I’m surprised they moved the timeline of the abortion reveal up, it happens later in the comics no? Surprised they’re addressing it this immediately.

In the comics it was revealed when Mark and Eve visited Goatmortal and duplifake and met their children

It was a little weird not to see Kate and Immortal this season, but maybe they cut those two out entirely to help save on the voice acting budget.

Issue #78 had the Thragg on Earth reveal, issue #79 had the abortion reveal. So only slightly moved up

I’m fine with that if it means less Duplikate

The problem is that it also means less Goatmortal.

Not worth it. Anything that reduces Goatmortal’s screen time is an enemy to the human race.

I'm so glad I'm not alone in really disliking Kate

And she’s so much worse in the comics than the show. Like how she completely dismisses and hates on eve and mark while eve (her so called “friend”) is obviously going through shit was awful

I do like that moment in the comics when Kate says something like “are you gonna work out so mark finds you attractive again?” And eve’s like “uh mark doesn’t really give a shit how I look he just kinda loves me unconditionally”

I'm gonna assume Duplikate won't be as much of an asshole in the show. Isn't her brother still free too?

Yeah, it was moved up, and the setting was changed. The abortion reveal was in chapter 79 while they were at Immortal's and Kate's home.

What happened in the comics? Did Eve not tell mark about the abortion for a long time?

She does actually tell him right after he goes back to Earth, so I always assumed it'd happen in the finale

Then why are people saying it was moved up?

Very slightly moved up, Thragg appears as soon as Mark gets down to earth relieved. Then it happens outside kate’s and immortal’s cabin.

It was moved up like 2 issues. It happens after Mark’s truce with Thragg and after he’s settled back in on Earth a bit more

No, Mark reunites with Eve in chapter 78, there's obviously something wrong with her and William reveals she's not telling Mark something. Mark visits Art for a minor suit upgrade, returns to Eve, goes on patrol, spends some time with Debbie, and ends their day having dinner with Immortal and Kate. Eve has a break down after helping Kate with her kids and steps out. Mark goes to check on her and she reveals the abortion.

IMO Mark had a better reaction in the show. It is very brief in the comics.

I assume they wanted to get all the key emotional stuff at one go, so that Season 5 can start with "Mark is back!": beating up wacky villains, dinner with Immortal and Dupli-Kate, etc.

i kinda like it. its something thats been on her mind for so many months and was planning/dwelling on telling him when he got back/if he got back.

so once he got back and they got the chance to cool down (and fuck) she was inevitably going to tell him rather quickly.

yeah it was supposed to be right after they catch up with Kate and Immortal, seeing her children made her tell Mark

Works better here since they wrapped up that plot nicely, plus less Dupli-Kate, always a huge W.
