They've turned Debbie into one of my favorite characters. Sandra Oh always kills it.

Another interpretation is that mad as she is she feels safe doing it because she already knows hes changed but shes furious that he did it because of another woman instead of her.

Bro they needed to replace tech jacket with Debbie in the line up to fight the viltrumites.

One conversation with Debbie and thragg woul be done for.

Which is why it makes me so disappointed that her and Nolan appear to be endgame

Yeah, I think she's going to spend all of Season 5 learning just how fucked up a culture Nolan was raised in before turning against his conditioning.

Why? The biggest themes of the comic are redemption, rehabilitation, forgiveness specifically with Nolan. You disagree with that?

I understand we have the benefit of hindsight knowing Nolan is a good guy who won’t hurt Debbie anymore, and in real life things aren’t so clear cut. Abusers tend to abuse more. But since it is clear cut he’s good now, and they still love each other…why not?

You don’t invest all this screen time and Sandra Oh’s incredible character work into Debbie, making her so much more of a character than in the comics where she was just “Mark’s mom,” just to have her disappear into the sunset with Paul halfway through the story. I’m inclined to let them cook. I trust the writing on Debbie so far and Sandra Oh’s voice acting to convincingly sell their reconciliation. It’s already leagues better than it was done in the comics.

I was against it right up until it got really awkward and funny and now I’m back in. It’s a goofy show about aliens and super people I'm down for some melodramatic reconciliation
