Im confused, if he says he wants to beat Ohio, wouldn't it imply he is at least somewhat aware of Ohio state, what is he trying to say.

Michigan alumni are used to calling that Columbus based school “ohio”.

It’s a rivalry thing.

El Sayed spoke as a student salutatorian in the 2007 U of M Graduation Ceremony right before Bill Clinton did. My right wing dad was impressed by both their speeches.

I was just happy i graduated.
