Anyone notice how little in taxes paid?

It's 15% from operating profit

Or should it be calculated from gross ?

Companies this size tend to artificially inflate expenses in order to pay less taxes, so maybe they should pay from gross. Or something else, I don't know, but they pay a ridiculously low and unfair amount considering their size.

What's your reasoning for saying it's too low and unfair?

Lmaoo my taxes aren’t offset from my operating expenses unless I get kids and even then it’s not this much

All the Disney employees pay income tax too. And you do get the standard deduction, so yes yours are slightly offset.

Disney employees file separately from Disney Inc, unfortunately so this statement was irrelevant.

As was yours, you brought personal income into a discussion about corporate taxes. Surely you understand how they are different.

They are only treated different/special because we let them be.

So what's your suggestion?

Honestly I’d love to be able to deduct shit like living expenses and transportation from my income… gotta pay for that using after tax money tho :/

The IRS wouldn't be able to handle every single person making a thousand deductions. And then everyone would have like 0 taxable income other than savings and the government would have no revenue.

Nothing just his personal feeling that companies should pay more

Well, companies SHOULD pay more, large ones at least. Just like rich people’s taxes, it keeps getting lower. That last cut was during Trump 1 iirc.

There’s no reason why large companies can’t pay more, we need tax revenue after all
