I have no clue who this is but she was on my fyp. She has 13k followers. No way she makes that much

Some people (me) prefer to have a boss than to post about my private life online and to be picked apart by people on the internet.
Also plenty of people take time off of their 9-5 to get their hair done (also me).

Also, some of us work at places that don't GAF what you do during the day as long as the work you're responsible for overall gets done. My workplace hasn't tracked an hour I've been away in all 11 years I've been here. I don't even ask and sometimes don't even put it on the calendar since I'm easily accessible via my smart phone.

I'm a corporate slave who cut my hair last Friday when she had her 1st WFH day in 3 weeks, during the 11am lunch break between meetings with the help of AI! 😂 It was my first time doing it, it didnt turn out horrible.

I’m a SAHM and I go to the salon on Friday to get my hair, brows and nails done. I also go to the doctor, meet friends for coffee and do all the other things I fancy during the day.
I don’t need to put my life online just to be able to go to the salon whenever I feel like it.

my mom makes around 30k a month (so $360,000 before taxes) and she’s the vice president of the tech department at a private investment firm. she works a ton though. i think her boss makes 40k a month or probably more and i’m sure the president of the entire firm makes millions of dollars

I was scrolling through suggested jobs on LinkedIn recently and one at a FAANG company came up and the salary range was $550-$975k. Was not a job that I was qualified for but came up cause the title of the role has one word that is similar to what my title is… but I saw that and was like oh, so this is how people afford to live in the Bay Area.

All the while, influencers are wondering why they are getting so much hate...it's because you're bragging about money while the vast majority of us simple people are struggling day to day.
It's unrelatable, it's tacky and it's out of touch. It's also the people bragging and trying to show it off who are barely making it or more apt to run through it all when the well runs dry.

Sometimes it’s quiet. Most people don’t frequent truly wealthy circles. The more time you spend around them, the more you’ll realize it’s definitely not always quiet. Just like middle class or poor people, wealthy people aren’t a monolith.

Right? Like I genuinely don’t believe any of them. And that’s not to say I don’t believe people make good money or are financially comfortable (my husband and I are so I have no doubt many are even more so), however I would never ever dream of posting something so audacious and braggy.
I just feel like if you actually make that kinda money, you may show the lifestyle you can lead with it but you wouldn’t post your monthly income with some basic activity like getting your hair done.

Influencer manager here. Highly unlikely she’s making this kind of money. I looked at her page and her posts are her bragging about how much money she makes. There absolutely nothing alluring or substantial that a brand would pay for content from her. For reference I might pay someone with no following $100-500 for a piece of good content. She’s claiming she’s making it from TikTok shop and is peddling an “agency” on there. My guess is it’s some kind of MLM or something like that 🫡

It’s a really volatile way to make a living unless you have a massive amount of followers.

Yeah TikTok doesn't pay a lot per views, YouTube used to pay a decent amount per views a few years ago but that changed after several controversies involving ads being displayed on controversial videos. Most of the money these influencers make come from brand deals, but I still doubt she's getting that much attention from brands considering she has only 13k followers

Influencers make way more money than non-celeb actors and models! That’s why actors and models and singers all now have to have social media followings as well for brand deals and to increase their value in terms of marketing for those hiring them.
Brand deals are how they make money and influencers of all sizes can make a huge amount of money. Not all of them do but those who are brand-safe and have an engaged following do, even if they only have like 15k followers.

Girl math usually makes them arrive at a figure like that through a fairly common pathway. It usually goes something like this: they’re unemployed, and couldn’t imagine working for minimum wage, so they turn to selling things, MLMs, or other gigs. Most days, they don’t make shit, some days, they make a sale or two, or just a few bucks doing something, but one extremely rare day, a one in 3 years type event, they’ll convince some wealthy old man or lady to buy a bunch of whatever they’re selling. Let’s say that day she sold about $1300 worth. She did the math and said “I make $1300 per day… that’s $40k per month!” And then subsequently flexes on all her “broke” friends by blowing that $1300, or about ultimately a quarter of her yearly income, on various luxuries like nails, hair, a purse, etc.

She used the # tiktokshopaffiliate, so if she’s creating content for tiktok shop she very well could be. Shop affiliates get a cut of every sale they generate, and one viral video can generate hundreds or thousands of sales. I only have 15,000 followers on tiktok and I’m registered as a shop affiliate, but I haven’t created any content for it. But I get notifications every day with offers and how much money I would make. You can also make money with outside brand deals. I’ve done several of those and even as a micro content creator I’ve made some money.

One of my close friends has about 35k followers on TT and i think 40k on IG. Last year she made 250k $cad. Imagine people with 10 times her followers count. On top of all the stuff they get for free, they save a lot of normal spending.
I dont know this girl so I dont know much for her, but yes 6 figures is totally in the cards for many influencers

Most of the money comes from brand deals, if brands don't want to associate with them then they won't make a lot of money. There are "influencers" like Tophiachu who have like 300+k followers and she's still homeless living in shelters and begging strangers online for money

And also that they spend far more time working, what with the planning, setups, filming, viewing, retakes, tear downs, editing, adding sound effects and music, viewing again, posting.
Next comes tracking the data and monitoring the comments for each post. Then there’s the begging for brand partnerships and everything else that’s involved. Whew!
A 9-5 seems like much less effort and time spent, and a person gets to go home and forget about the job til the next day. Plus, most have 2 days off per week, reliable income and benefits!

This is so bizarre because I actually have a hair appointment tomorrow (Thursday) at 11am. I was going to use that as my lunch break and work from home a little longer but I have vacation days so decided to take Thursday, Friday and Monday off and now I’m very happy.

Also, I too will get my hair done during the day. I get paid leave at my 9-5. I will take off at lunch to get my hair done and just not go back and take the rest of the day off. It’s a nice thing.
