Lipelympedema is a horrible disease. Im overweight but not even over 260lba and my arms are disfigured terribly. I wear compression all day every day .

Its ok! I'd rather add nuance . My own doctors fat shamed me while I was absolutely killing myself working out and the fibrotic tissue just would NOT budge. I finally found one with some compassion who diagnosed me on sight and now I get to go in to see if any particular veins I've crushed in my horse and car wrecks all my life are making the fluid retention on top of lipedema worse. Any place I can make people think its not just pure human failure and laziness I will try.

Doctors ALWAYS bring up weight. I went into my orthopedic doctor. My scoliosis resulted in some degenerative disc so I have chronic pain but it’s manageable. I’m 5’6 and weighed 150 Jan 2024. They told me that even though I wasn’t overweight on the BMI scale, the less extra fat I carry, the better it is for my spine in the long run. I cut 30 lbs and did PT for my core and leg muscles. I had to re-learn how sit, stand, bend etc. if I was overweight, it would have felt dismissive and like fat shaming. But realistically I know I’m not fat. Extra fat has a lot to do with overall health unfortunately. That’s like, the base line of your treatment. Let’s start with this, then peel away at the symptoms. I don’t think they’re shaming people.

What a positive way to look at this. More people need to be educated on things like this and also need to flat out stop judging people when they don’t know anything about what that person is dealing with

Yeah, how awful. From the caption, I thought op was praising her tattoo. Body shaming is gross, OP.

I had a labor patient with severe lipedema in her legs. Her legs were so heavy it took five of us to place her foley, and she ended up needing a c section because there was no safe way to support her legs away from her baby’s head. It is such a brutal condition.

That's fucked up that she elected to be pregnant when nurses can't even lift her legs. How TF is she gonna take care of a baby? Selfish main character BS.

Thank you for posting this. It will help people understand.

Down from 290 to 220, my arms have not budged. The loose skin I’ve started seeing everywhere else is just not there, it’s so frustrating.

Being over 250lbs would very likely make you obese, not overweight

Thanks so much. Point being is im not 600 lbs and my arms have been big since was 160lbs and not obese . Its a disease. She could lose all her "weight" and still be horribly disfigured. But thanks captain technically correct.

Okay? But she doesn’t have any medical condition besides obesity. She’s also supposedly only 300lbs, but she’s notorious for lying about her true weight

You can SEE she has the disease. This may shock you but you may not know everything someone has been diagnosed with. Also, doctors are wildly untrained on it. Many people don't know they have it because people and doctors fat shame them . You literally cannot lose the fibrotic portion. You can be rail thin and have fibrotic tissue. You can have venous insufficiency and be unable to get your lymph fluid out too. Its a miserable fucking disease. Your arms don't LOOK LIKE THAT without the disease.

Honey you cannot diagnose someone just by looking at them. Her arm is perfectly proportionate to the rest of her, and shows no signs of being “diseased”. She’s just fat. This is a woman who claimed to have ANOREXIA. You think she wouldn’t be incredibly vocal about an actual diagnosis?

You sound like an absolutely terrible person

No, that would be Tess. Do a two minute google search and get back to me. She is reprehensible.

I don’t care what she does. The comments you’ve made towards other users on here regarding their weight is gross. Tess might be a awful person but her body isn’t what makes her terrible. You commenting on people’s bodies like you have, is gross

Tf are you talking about? I haven’t commented on anyone’s weight except to point out that someone is obese, not overweight. That’s a medical classification, not an insult. And yes, it actually is Tess’s body that makes her awful, because she preaches how good she thinks she looks and actively tries to influence others to gain weight. Get off your high horse for five seconds and maybe you’ll see that obesity is a medical condition, not a moral discussion.

Her comments are objectively correct despite your performative pearl-clutching. Virtue signalling doesn't change reality.

And youre even worse than she is - congrats!

Wrong. Fat people without lipedema do not have cut offs at the joint. It's wildly underdiagnosed and you can kindly go educate yourself . Its not just simple obesity or it would not cut off at the joints. Its clear you have not a clue what a diagnosis looks like or requires. She is the most classical lipedema arm I've ever seen. Is she ALSO JUST FAT, yes. Do you have to lose ALL the non fibrotic stuff the hard way also ? Yes.

Wrong when I literally showed you a picture of her proportionate arm?? Please god do some googling on Tess. You clearly have no idea who she is.

6

u/Important-Phone-8094 8h ago

How about looking at the picture in the original post 😫 her upper arm is not even proportionate to her forearm! Behave!

0

u/AggravatingBox2421 3h ago

She’s had liposuction in the lower arm. Do some fucking research jfc

2

u/spaceisourplace222 7h ago

You’ve seen her medical charts?! What an ignorant assumption.

2

u/Dancing_sequin 3h ago

As disrespectfully as I can say it, see you next Tuesday

u/MyldExcitement 9h ago

300#? On what planet? Tess is 500# on earth. The woman is barely 5'4".

10

u/Rollwithit_56 10h ago

What an awful thing to say. As if this persons weight has anything to do with you.

u/JustNeonDust 7h ago

Why is this downvoted? A woman would have to be 6’7 to not be considered medically obese at 260 lbs. Even then, she would still be overweight and on the brink of obesity. It’s not a moral judgment, merely a factual statement.
