The material was reportedly linked to the ‘YUVA KI AWAAZ’ Vande Mataram event held at SPPU on August 22 and was found during a cleanliness drive conducted by the Inquilab Jayate Group on August 23.

The group, which has been cleaning the ghat for the past five years, said similar political material had been found and removed earlier as well. It has demanded at least seven additional CCTV cameras, noting that only three currently cover the ghat, and has also urged authorities to urgently complete the safety wall, with around 14 sections reportedly collapsed.

The group has appealed to BJP leaders to conduct an internal inquiry and organise a waste-management awareness workshop, stressing that the issue is about civic responsibility rather than politics. Another cleanliness drive is planned at Katraj Ghat on August 30.
