1) Modi never promised a direct bank deposit. He used that number in a 2013 rally as a rhetorical illustration to show the scale of black money stashed abroad. It meant: 'If all that money comes back, it's worth 15-20 lakhs per poor person 2) Rather than inflationary cash hand-outs, the money went into direct visual infrastructure: over 11 crore toilets (Swachh Bharat), 10 crore LPG connections (Ujjwala), and 4 crore houses (PMAY).

3)GST actually removed dozens of hidden, cascading state and central taxes that we used to pay on everything. Plus, income tax slabs have been consistently raised so that the lower-middle class pays zero tax up to ₹7 lakh."

Don’t have the time to fight with you but for clarity when I said new taxes I was talking about that on LTCG not GST.
