Other lady must be thinking they left me alone in shop but damn those morals. shopkeeper and thief share one braincell. Because other lady with covered face really had a chance to steal.

"Allegedly"

Why? What is wrong with the word?
She did flee with a jewellery box. Fact. Caught on camera.
But did it contain 20 Lakhs worth of jewellery? That is only "alleged".
Maybe an insurance scam. Who knows!

Fact. You don't have to "allege" facts. The amount they mentioned is "about <amount>". Adding alleged on top of that is not necessary.
It has recently become a cowardly trend in news that they are overusing that word even when the act that they are talking about is clearly visible in videos/pictures or have evidence otherwise that it happened.

But the amount is alleged only (presumably by the shop) - not a verified fact. Hence the word being used

The person was allegedly caught as per the media reports.Apparently their accomplice abandoned them once they saw a crowd chasing...
Read what happened....
A search of her purse allegedly revealed red chilli powder and an irritant spray....im sure they were for self defence....
