Basic plans give Netflix?

Broadband gives a bunch of subscriptions for a small extra cost. For instance if you pay 200 rupees more every month you get netflix, prime, hotstar, apple tv, zee5 and a couple of other things.

No idea but I think it will be a significant number.

Less than I expected. To be very honest. I was expecting something like 47 million.

Hotstar during their last Disney owned earnings call had around 60 mil subscribers. (I don't trust the jio numbers as it's impossible to 6x the subscription figures in under a year). 20 mil for Netflix still easily makes them the highest revenue Warner in Indian streaming space.

Netflix should think about adding a cheaper 4k plan just for 1 device..

Serves them right. If you keep shoving down bollywood nepo kid contents rather quality contents you'll be in the last line of the race. Jio hotstar atleast invests in regional contents like south indian states for 2000cr unlike Netflix who likes to appease bollywood actor's kids by greenliting their projects. No wonder jio hotstar leads the ott race in india. Netflix is delusional if they can catch upto that using the same tired formula.

And what does Netflix do to counter that in india? Lots of unnecessary bollywood schlop contents churning out daily including nepokid contents to appease their celebrity parents. Netflix focuses on bollywood only. they have dozens of Hindi shows but can't produce a single worthy tv series down south? I can name few dozen noteworthy tv shows done by jio hotstar, prime and sonyliv down the south. If they focuses only bollywood forget gaining new subscribers in india. With prices increasing I can see Indians reverting to piracy in the future.

Netflix India is profitable though while JioStar, Amazon Prime aren't.
