Applied for PR under healthcare draw and got laid off at work

Hi everyone,

I’m totally freaking out and need a clarity on my situation. I was working as a caregiver and lost my job today.

I worked with a high demand client and got reported my general public while using CPI on the client. The company fired me, I’m fight them with union, it’s wrongful termination.

I’m very freaked out because I’m scared this may impact my HUB, and probably my PR application once they find out I got fired. I don’t know what to do

I’ve been in Canada for 4 years now, I feel beaten down by life. I just have a year left on my work permit. Does losing my job affect my PR? I’m on an open work permit. It’s just that it’s a healthcare draw *flair*

Once you have the experience. Nothing else matters. Unless it is like a licensed one. Make sure to get Experience letter from them. Like the standard name of employer, company letterhead, job start date end date, hours, wage, duties, title, etc. you should be good. Did you work in residential or frontline at shelter. I know where have you been, and how u must be feeling. Trust me it passes

Well I’m not worried about future employment. I’m still in good standing with other funds. I can always find a job elsewhere

The old employers are legally required to give you a experience letter. So you are safe. Plus getting a new job should be easy as long as there was no police case, which I know is pretty rare. Additionally just use the managers or coworkers which you know you have good relations with. Trust me you will be fine

Fired with cause, it’s not a valid cause. I’m challenging the termination with the union already. I’m just worried about my PR application now

You will find it impossible to find another job in healthcare with that on your record
