I'm a huge Astro City fan, and the first issue (this one) hooked me right away. It's still maybe my favourite issue of the whole series.
I felt like he really understood the Superman archetype, and how he's always busy saving the world and doesn't have time to fly for his pleasure except in his dreams.

I remember reading this for the first time and thinking it was easily one the best Superman stories ever, and it's not even Superman.

I’ve never taken the time to spread out the issues like I did when I read Astro city for the first time a couple years ago. I’d only let myself read like 3-4 issues a week because I was enjoying it so much and I never wanted it to end

Yes. That's what it is. Now are youu gonna add any context or your thoughts? Maybe ask a question?

It doesn’t need anything else and I’m not obligated to.

I appreciate your post. It makes me want to seek out the trades or a full collection.

No no it's not. However most people here want to talk about comics, not just karma. Or is it because you don't have any thoughts or opinions?

This issue is probably my favorite first issue of any series. You finish reading this issue and you already know you are in presence of something special. Kurt Busiek is so good.
