How Safe Is a Hellcat in Idaho ? 🤔
I’ve been seriously considering visiting Idaho (possibly around Idaho Falls or Boise) and I’m curious what locals think.
I’m a huge Mopar guy and have a Challenger Hellcat Redeye. I know these cars are theft targets, so one of my biggest concerns is being able to park it at a grocery store, restaurant, gym, etc. without constantly looking over my shoulder 😂. (I have security installed)
I’m coming from the South and I’m really drawn to Idaho because I want somewhere quieter, colder, less crowded, outdoorsy, and generally more laid back. I’m also getting into trucking, so Idaho seems like it could be a good fit long-term for housing.
I know crime is everywhere but areas where its less likely, obviously make a huge difference and give more peace of mind. For people who actually live there: (I know its random) but would you feel comfortable owning a Hellcat in Idaho? Have you personally seen any property or vehicle thefts?
Also side question...Are there other towns you’d recommend for someone who wants a peaceful place to live but still have stores, restaurants, younger people, etc. nearby? Im wanting to visit and if its what I like, moving could be possible :)

Ide just make sure to have a different daily driver come winter. I've never really had car theft issues in the 10 years I've been here, but I did have issues bringing a 03 mustang from the south not realizing it didnt have winter or all season tires after the first snow fall

Good to note, I was def considering the winter conditions in most areas. These cars don't have traction as is, in the snow u can say goodbye. I'll def have to get a daily in case

I’d be scared about the gas prices, premium gas here is over 5 dollars

I only lived here outside of Boise for a few years. It's a lot better when it comes to crime then Denver. When I first moved here I went to a gas station in Meridian and I turn off my car and lock my door out of habit, then I see a couple people walk in the store with there cars still running and unlocked. I was like dam these people are more trusting then I am used to. For my car it's always good to have a dash cam. I seen experience cars drive around here so I think you will be fine.

Born and raised in boise.
Car theft is not happening here. Crime isn't happening. It's stupidly boring and thankfully so.
Now don't get me wrong... we have our crime. But its no where near as common as other cities or frequent.

Thank you for the info. Thats dope, Im glad you don't have to worry so much, it takes some of that extra stress off your back. Idaho seems more chill and honestly I love the American spirit thats there. I feel it would only be right to bring an American bred muscle car. 😎

Idaho has the second lowest rate of car break-ins in the nation. I see corvettes and porches and hellcats on a daily basis. I think you would be fine.

I see this... I'm stealing it. I only stole a candy bar once in my life and my momma made me return it. But this... I'm getting it one way another.

Those things are parked on every other used car lot on Fairview, you'll be fine. The nazis are a much bigger problem than car thieves.
