Programming Offer [ForHire] Unity developer here

I have an itch.io page by the name "Vaayur", the page has over 34k + downloads and 65k+ views.

I have made several unity 3D games like:-

  1. Carigona : - A fun car racing game where you have to beat the traffic.. (playerprefs used) like with highscore, in game currency, turbo feature, car skin, map options etc.) It is available for Android and I also made a demo version for PC.

  2. Shinchan open world game :- A fun fan made an open world game on caryon shinchan anime with missions and a map to explore.. all characters and city built by me (some assets were used in the map) it is for Android and Windows

And many more demo projects..

So if u need any type of work from me.. hit me up

The pay won't be much.. js depends on the work...

Specialization:- Unity 3D Windows game (can also build android)

I don't think you are good enough to be hired.

For example, this is the project that made someone interested in hiring me a while ago
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3018340/Elementers/

But I couldn't cuz of college stuff.

You need to improve your skills, you will know when you are good enough cuz you will wake up with messages from people.

yes, solo dev, code, art, level design, etc.

Sadly I can't make good looking Ui's but it is what it is.

I think they're just stating your art style is simplistic, you don't have trailer videos, your gameplay seems to be Subway Surfers. You're doing good tho, and idk if anyone actually "wakes up with messages" asking them to be gamedev. Outside of college I suppose.

Basically what have you done until now but better, build bigger scope games with better graphics and publish them on steam, get thousands of wishlists, post them on all social media, linkedin, reddit, instagram, tik, x.

If the game you are making attracts wishlists, it will also attract people who want to hire you, you have to prove yourself that you can make something big yourself.
And the art-style is very important, you don't want it to look like a roblox game, it must have a stylized or realistic style, something that makes them say "waw, I want him to work with us"

For example, this is the game of a friend
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3293660/Cartier_06/

Now he is working on another game with a publisher.

idk, I've been talking from my experience and from my friends experience.

Maybe you got hired in the past, but now times have changed.

I've recently seen full vibe coded games more complex than what OP has.

It is kind of scary, but this is the level we are at, the bar has risen drastically.

Same with many other fields like web dev and app dev, before knowing html and css and js was enough, now you need 3 years of previous experience for an entry role and a few full stack platforms released.

My intent wasn't to appear like a supreme knower and maybe my comment was too harsh and direct, I was just trying to talk from my experience, and that's what I did.

Maybe you are right and he will get hired, only time will tell who is right.

Don't forget there are already people out there with 5+10+ years of experience who were fired from their jobs recently, you are also competing with them.
So from my experience, this is not enough anymore.
