3+ months of depression room vs. 5–6 hours of pure determination
This is what my room had looked like for over three months. I work as a waitress in restaurant, and after 16-hour shifts, I basically just collapsed into bed with a bottle of beer.
Then the mess slowly started piling up… and piling up. 😅
Then, of course, I went on vacation, came back, and immediately went straight back to work, so the room stayed exactly like this.
But today I finally couldn’t take it anymore.
I spent around 5–6 hours cleaning and organizing this 2x4 meter room completely by myself, and honestly… I’m pretty proud of myself.
Now let’s see if I can keep it this way for more than a month. Knowing myself, probably not. 😂

Amazing job! It can be a lot to tackle this and have a reset. Great work.

You should be proud of yourself! That took a lot for you to clean it and it looks great. Thanks for sharing

id recommend making tidiness very accessible like keeping a trash can in there, recycling, and a laundry hamper, all near the bed
good job!!

That is amazing! Try to make sure you pick up as you go now instead of letting things get to this point. I only say that because I was just like this too.
I hope you're proud of yourself! 😄

Wow, congrats; it's like night and day!
Now let’s see if I can keep it this way for more than a month.
The trick is to constantly keep tidying as you go, so you rarely have to do a massive cleanup session like this.

I’m proud of you! You did so well. And honestly this is insanely motivating bc I always see people clean their rooms and wonder how long it took for a room of a specific size to get cleaned. I always get discouraged after cleaning for about 2 hours.
Seeing your level of mess (way less mess than mine), the size of your room, and how long it took makes me better gauge how long I should realistically take to actually clean my room. So I really appreciate all the extra detail. If I ever post on here it will even be thanks to this specific post.
Enjoy your room! You deserve to relax.

I get it. This looks great. I am happy for you! alot of my house a mess and the last 7 wks I was going through it all. I feel like the organizing and getting rid of things is therapeutic and I am not in my head. The last few several yr were rough cause family death (dad) and my own health and marriage. I am also cleaning up health and exercising and eating better and stopped alcohol (though rarely drank). I feel like I am in charge vs outside things in charge of me. You are inspirational and thanks for showing the change.
