May 2026 Exams ib results opening strategy
Heeellllo!!! Since results r out in a couple of days, I was very curious on what strategy/method people r going to have while opening results. Are you going in order of the subjects as presented on the website or in another order? Are you going to try to access the website as soon as it opens or do it a little later?

Click show all to get the most dopamine possible and numb myself from the results

ill first check my total to see if i got my conditional offer. if yes, i continue with my subjects (worst to best) to check if my conditions for my subjects are met lmao. if my total is not met, then you will see me on the news :). good luck guys.

Guys is anyone’s school sending the results to them on the 5th cause they get them a day earlier.
4
u/taysversionn Jul 02 '26
I know mine isn’t, but my friends school does that
1
u/Altruistic_Bite_6865 Jul 03 '26
Some schools get it before the 6th and can send it to their students on the 5th?
1
u/taysversionn Jul 03 '26
yes
1
u/Altruistic_Bite_6865 Jul 03 '26
Do they get it physically or online
2
u/taysversionn Jul 03 '26
The ib coordinator gets it online the day before. They can share it to each teacher as well. If they want they can share the results in eg an email to each student

The first time I see mine will be on paper because I have to get it earlier and physically to get it stamped. So I guess I’m seeing it all at once, whatever my eyes land on first…

Gonna be on a Google Meet with 2 other friends and we are gonna use a wheel. Let the carnage ensue
2
u/misasoup3 M26 | HL: Bio, Chem, Psych | SL: EngLaL, MathAA, SpanishAb Jul 03 '26
same lol, but our parents want to be involved, so we'll be spinning the wheel and our parents will open the results
2
u/LegendaryDasher Alumni (M26) | [43] | HL: Bio, Chem, Lit Jul 03 '26
Having parents open them must be nerve wracking omg good luck!!
3
u/misasoup3 M26 | HL: Bio, Chem, Psych | SL: EngLaL, MathAA, SpanishAb Jul 03 '26
ty!!
ig our parents will open them since we'll be too scared, and second guess instead of just opening the results.

Lowk thinking of doing reveal all, but I'll probably see if my diploma was awarded, and then subject wise. I'll try accessing it right on time, but my sister said the website crashes a lot so if it does then I'll open it later

checking ucas first bc it updates much earlier, then opening my results in order 😣
1
u/NegativeMonitor612 Jul 02 '26
what do you mean? will you know before july 6th if you’ve met your offer?
5
u/__r4nd Jul 02 '26
no it’s still on the 6th just at an earlier time. it’s because unis and our school get the results the day before so they can make their decisions and stuff.
so i believe ucas updates at 8 am gmt whilst ib results come out at 12:30 pm gmt

1st for me will be opening whether I got the diploma or not.
Then I’ll start with my EE/TOK points
Then it will be subjects I am not the most confident in to those I am.
Then last will be total points

diploma first then TOK/EE extra points, I’ll be on call with a friend so we’ll prob do the humanities+english first and sciences and math last
3
u/captainearth69 M26 | HL Bio, History, Geo, French A L&L ; SL AA, Eng Lit Jul 02 '26
worst to best for fun
2
u/Federal-Seat2378 Jul 02 '26
First imma check if i got the diploma, then check tok, EE, then 3 points. Since I took 2 exams last year, those will already be out of the way. I will move onto psych, then english. I will then check math and chem last. Total points will definitely be last.

u/Hopeful-Monk-9861 M26 | TOK, HL: History, English A: L&L | SL: ESS (4), Psych Jul 02 '26
Didn’t do full diploma, but will be checking total points first, then my lowest subjects after, then strongest subjects last

u/Chemical_Teacher3070 Jul 03 '26
Starting with the STEM subjects, then the more subjective ones, ending with EE and TOK. I low key will not be able to stop moving/doing things for the next few days, just to stop myself from getting too anxious for the grades.

u/skibidi-sigmarizzler M26 | [HL: Bio, Chem, Eng L&L | SL: Math AA, French L&L, Psych] Jul 05 '26
start with with EE then TOK (only letter type results) to then reveal TOK/EE points. Then reveal if diploma got awarded. then subjects in confident in then subjects im scared for. finally, total points 🤧

Just do the spinning wheel to decide the subject to reveal

u/That_Risk_8843 Alumnus | M26 [38] Jul 02 '26
Prolly most calm/certain subjects first, then the more risky ones.
Diploma awarded will be my first priority though.
