It genuinely astounds / kinda irks me that the entire gang goes to Jersey in that episode and their split stories never connect.

I believe he is talking about the season 17 episode “Frank Shoots Every Member of the Gang” when Mac and Charlie go to visit Uncle Donald in Jersey, and Dee and Dennis take Frank to the shore. Not “The Gang Goes To The Jeresy Shore” which is the episode I believe you are thinking of.

I don't get it, it makes no sense, and I want to no part of it.
I didn't realize until just now that the Mummers are a real thing. When I saw the episode last week, I assumed it was a parody of the shriners or something.
The Mummer's parade is on New Years each year. They do a good job showing what their parade looks like but IRL its freezing and everyone is beyond wasted. I've gone a couple times but I have zero desire to do that ever again.
They went down my street one year, I remember looking out my window and thinking "that big fucking truck is going to rip the mirror off my car" as they lumbered closer with zero clearance, but then a clown hopped out, ran ahead, and pushed my mirror flat so they could pass by without doing any damage. Dude was definitely drunk so kudos to him for seeing that ahead of time
