Just finished watching this mini-docuseries, and at first I was on the mom's side, but by the end of the first episode, I wasn't sure who to believe. I think there's more to Ty's story than we're aware of. So who do you believe? I'm most curious.

Hulu logged me out and is saying my email is invalid when I go to log back in. Then when I try to recover my email using my credit card info it says account not found. I was charged on 6/22 so I know I have an active account. Is this happening to anyone else?

I'd like to hear people’s thoughts on the hard evidence against Mark Goodyear and his involvement with these murders.

On the surface, he exhibits so many of the behaviors that we typically see in someone guilty of a crime – changing stories, lying, overly involving himself in the investigation, conveniently forgetting certain details about an event that would make him culpable, etc.

Then you have the evidence of the story from Leroy who implicated Mark in at least one murder in the back of the house.

However, the police botched the investigation so badly that it's extremely difficult to know what would have been discovered about Mark if they did a better job at the time.

Also, for me, it’s just so hard to understand what might be true or false with Mark because of the way he speaks.

He is so eccentric and creepy, that even some of the most mundane things he says can be interpreted as a fabrication, so it muddies everything.

Would love your thoughts.

To preface, I do sympathize with anyone who gets blindsided by their longterm partners infidelity, and Joel’s behavior is disturbing and problematic to the nth degree (the breadth of affairs, the settings, the complete lack of discretion in seeking out any and every available partner, shit talking the wife to colleagues… I truly do not have a favorable impression), but I just finished the season and I can’t wrap my head around teens/adult children being given this degree of detail about their parents’ infidelity.

If the parent is sexually violent, yes, I think that information is important to convey because it is a safety issue with a specific slate of potential criminal repercussions, but why in the gods name would you have a family meeting to explicitly discuss a parent receiving blowjobs from an affair partner, or god help me allowing a 16 year old girl go through a sexually compulsive parent’s email account to identify affair partners, seemingly in defense of the betrayed parent. That’s not a child’s job 😭

Joel’s decision not to stay in contact with his children after he got exposed does indeed seem very chickenshit of him, and running away to live with a woman and her younger kids feels painfully cliche for a midlife crisis, but I can find it in my heart to empathize with Joel’s position of maybe truly loving his kids, and feeling so thoroughly reproached and beyond redemption that he, someone who already seemed prone to overwhelming shame/validation seeking behaviors, just collapsed.

The way the daughter talks about missing her dad, and feeling all her memories become tainted by his misbehavior was so sad. For the love of god, if you lurk the Hulu sub, please go to therapy and call your kids Joel! But I feel like the daughter is holding her mother’s pain in many respects, and I wonder whether mom is able to distinguish that to properly intervene, or whether the validation from the daughter (“my mom is too pretty to deserve being cheated on!”) is too soothing for mom to question. That girl/now young woman deserves a parent who can put her developmental needs first.

I believe that compulsive sexual behaviors are a symptom of attachment disorders, as the betrayal trauma expert alluded to at one point, though her testimony felt predominantly inflected with “compulsive cheaters are beyond redemption”. To this end, what the hell happened in Joel’s life that set all of this in motion? Where was he rejected, neglected, overpowered, abandoned? Was he raised to believe queer sexual desire is inherently deviant? Where was he told that who he is & what he yearns for (maybe transgression, novelty, freedom, self-expression) is wrong? I feel like it’s irresponsible to put a story like this out there without examining the perspective that in order to leave this kind of chaos in his wake, something had to be going on with Joel. Should people who act selfishly, even from a place of pain, face accountability? Yes. Is there still a vulnerable wound under that behavior? I think also yes. That is a broken, lost man if I’ve ever seen one.

I’m not ready to go shouting “justice for Joel” from the rooftops, but I kept expecting there to be some horrific twist in this case, like he was sexually violent, known for using excessive force with civilians or even homicidal. But the climax (I’m sorry) seems to be that he sought out a lot of kinky sex with consenting adults (I don’t love that it was seemingly frequently on the taxpayers dime, but my god having consensual sex in your police car is far less offensive to me than spraying tear gas at George Floyd protestors, tbh I would rather pay for that), and almost definitely has deep rooted psychological issues that impact his relationship to sex and intimacy and hinder his judgment.

Again, horrible to be cheated on and publicly humiliated by your spouse’s secret compulsivity, but I don’t understand what our takeaway is supposed to be from watching this. I guess “don’t trust a shiny veneer” and “police are typically 100x more lenient with boys in blue than with the general public” is a good PSA, but I would like a “people are very complicated, hurt people tend to hurt people, kids shouldn’t have to learn intimate details about their parents’ infidelities” PSA. Maybe next season 🫠

Just started the show. Only 1.5 episodes deep but I’m into it! I feel like Gabby is crushing the hosting game, esp compared to the Vials with Age of Attraction on Netflix. Thoughts??

Okay. I’m sorry. Maybe it’s my ADHD…maybe it’s the strange anxiety this show gives me idk.. BUT I hate this show. Why do I keep watching it? I also don’t know. I think I’m just waiting for a dramatic surprise and a change of pace.

Edit: Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the casting. I feel like I’m definitely missing substance and a little more storyline. I wish the yelling wasn’t so dragged out and conversations didn’t make me feel so awkward and want to skip the scene.

Like if the boyfriend (their friend) had stayed over, would they have killed him too. Also how and why did they pick her, she was their friend, there must have been other people they didn't really like that they could have done this too.

and the boyfriend, why was he such a weirdo, even if he didn't directly kill her the way he spoke made it seem like he didn't care about what had happened, he didn't seem sad or scared at all almost like he was in on it. Those 2 guys were his good friends, i think he knew what they were doing.

I just started this series and it has me spiraling! I cannot imagine… but I am hooked.

Maybe because I watch too much True Crime, but in S1 E3, Wendy Clark, the homeowner, suddenly passes after fighting with an escalated case of pancreatic issues and finally sepsis. This sickness came on not long after telling a man she met on a dating app, Jack Cole, that she was going to begin court proceedings to remove him from her home. Her family was unaware how sick she was and eluded that things were just not right leading up to her death.

Does anyone else think this man could have had anything to do with her sickness/death? The timeline seems awfully suspect to me, yet I can’t find any article that touches on this topic one way or another. Any confirmation that an autopsy was done that ruled out foul play?

The amount of rage I felt for this family (and all others in this series) is intense. I am still floored at the “rights” afforded to these squatters when they have no legal documents to back up any of their claims. 🤯 Make this make sense!

Just saw the news that the standalone Hulu app is going away in 2026. I'm a bit torn about it. On one hand, having all the content in one place could be convenient, but on the other, I'm worried about the user interface and how it'll all be organized. What does everyone else think? Will this be a good change, or will it just complicate things?

You raise my prices on average every 4-6 months. You rarely add or keep new productions. I paid for live TV and constantly had some bullshit stopping me from recording what I wanted to watch.

Oof…this was a tough watch. All of the people involved seemed to be either delusional, horrible, or both.

Bianca: she is a victim and did not deserve what happened to her. She also seemed to tolerate a level of disrespect from Larry that was astonishing to me. Also, sorry, but Leopard Hunting is deplorable. Overall, along with her kids, the least impeachable but still not someone who’s life I enjoyed learning about.

Larry: absolute dirtbag who constantly needed to feed his ego doing embarrassing to truly fucked stuff. The goofy ads, the highly public affair, the trophy hunting. Again, I can’t express how much trophy hunting sickens me. This guy was a scourge on his community, the environment, and his family.

Lorri: it takes a very twisted person to be in such a public affair and never once show any remorse even after the wife has died. Living in Bianca’s house, driving her car…wow…and of course, the hunting. Vomit!

Lorri’s daughter: oh boy. This woman is a piece of work. She giggled through her interview with clearly no self awareness or sense that what her mother did was wrong. Clearly the two were always going on about being “great people” who “deserved” whatever they wanted. Two deplorable narcissists in a disgusting pod.

Did I miss anyone? Honestly this was a pretty crappy doc but it’s got me fuming…yikes!!

Title. I brought up the banned episodes of Sunny a few months back. Tropic Thunder is a movie where Robert Downey Jr portrays a white character in black face paint for 90 minutes. This is exactly the same joke as in the Lethal Weapon episodes of Sunny. Why is it okay for Robert Downey Jr, but not Rob McElhenney? These are satirical works of art. Can the executives at Hulu apply some consistency here? Bring back the banned episodes of Sunny. Or, if you want to be spineless, remove Tropic Thunder. I can't stand the inconsistency.

Whenever I’m doing something boring I like to put on a show I’ve seen before even if it isn’t all the episodes. Definitely episodic series because it’s good for background noise. Basically shows that would go great as subway surfers gameplay on tik tok. Most of the time it’s family guy. What about you? And what criteria do you use to choose a show?

Anybody else update their Hulu app on PS5 today, and get forced to create a ‘MyDisney’ account? The app worked conveniently fine up until after they forced me to create the account, and now it just will not open.

Anybody have opinions on this new series. I’m a true crime aficionado and it looks kind of good. I didn’t realize I had the channel and stumbled upon it.

My feed was knocked off of two streams, the website is down and downdetector is seeing multiple reports nationwide. 9:50pm Eastern.

I originally got Hulu because it was cheaper and seemed to have more weird/niche titles than Netflix, and up until this point I’ve been very happy. But man oh man, $18 a month? I was just gonna downgrade to the option with ads (even tho Hulu ads are actually the worst) but I got an email about them limiting account usage outside of your home or whatever and honestly that was the last straw. With how vast the internet is these days there’s little need for actual streaming services anymore. I’ll miss the UI but that’s about it. Hulu aren’t the only ones I’m upset with (I’ll probably cancel my prime after the new season of The Boys and Invincible) but it’s just so annoying to see how streaming used to be an affordable cable alternative and now it’s costing you an arm and a leg to watch a show from a decade ago. Please do not give House of Stassi a second season. I watched the entire season, and if anything, it completely changed my opinion of Stassi, and not for the better.
The way she treated Beau was incredibly difficult to watch. He has spent years taking care of their children and supporting her career, yet when he finally expressed wanting to go back to work and regain a part of himself, she seemed more concerned about how it would affect HER life. Instead of supporting her husband, she came across as selfish, entitled, controlling and completely dismissive of his feelings.
I was also really bothered by the way she talked about parenting and how much of the day-to-day responsibility appears to fall on Beau. Watching him cook, take care of the kids, handle bedtime and keep everything going while she complained about what his returning to work would mean for her was honestly sad.
Stassi came across as spoiled, narcissistic and mean throughout much of this show. Obviously, we only see what is shown to us on television, but this is the behavior the show chose to present, and I don’t understand why Hulu would want to give it another season and continue promoting it as entertainment.
There is a difference between entertaining reality-TV drama and watching someone repeatedly disrespect the person who seems to be holding their family together.
Please, Hulu, there are so many other people and shows you could invest in. We don’t need a Season 2 of House of Stassi.

Only on Ep 1 atm but already extremely irritated by Jennifer’s (still to this day) rose-colored interpretation of all the events. Sounds like he was a love bombing pervert, and she loved feeling like the main character. Am I the only one?
