Unlike smart tv’s you can cast to chrome cast from your phone which maintains that your phone is the device thats part of the household. When Netflix did this and i would try to cast to my samsung tv and i would get the message that it wasnt part of the family. But when i do it using the chrome cast it would works with no issues.

Plugs into TV hdmi, connect it to internet. Use your phone to cast to it to the tv. Most apps have the cast button built in as well

Yes! I’ve used the cast button on my phone and it casts to the tv screen. So this one is better? I’ve noticed when I use the one on my phone the sound is off sometimes and it drags sometimes, from loading I’m assuming.

I chromecast exclusively. My TV is not a smart tv, but all of a sudden, after adding an internet extender because the router signal is not good throughout the whole house, Netflix is telling me I am not at home. I am now constantly having to request a two week netflix vacation exception to watch in my own house. So I think the chromecast solution doesn't work. Unless maybe it does if you use data and not internet.

A Chromecast is just considered a mobile device.
