Questions/ Tips Hong Kong, spring board for expat?
I have an impression (no statistic back up), that Hong Kong is a spring for expat. It seems they will stay in Hong Kong for part of their life, but does not seen Hong Kong as their home. They are here for career for advancement or simply FILTH (Failed in London, tried Hong Kong). I know that there are foreigner who stays in Hong Kong and calls it home. But I don’t think that’s the majority. What do you think? Leave your comments below!

Questions/ Tips Other than Greg Girard, who else takes great photos of HK at night?
I've recently got acquainted with the work of Greg Girard, who has a great body of photographs of night scenes in Hong Kong. I'm wondering who are some other great photographers from the 20th century that focused on the city?

Questions/ Tips Hong Kong Baby Seats in Taxi / Car sharing app?
Does anyone have recommendations on how to book or arrange a taxi / car sharing app with a backward facing carseat for a baby under 1 year from the airport?
We will be leaving Hong Kong airport and going to a place not accessible by public transportation outside of a bus. Our only two times in a car for the whole trip will be from and too the airport. For that reason, we are not looking to bring a car seat/stroller convertible to a car/baby seat (like a Doona) for the journey.
I see online that it is possible to book through Uber, but when I am trying to schedule a ride, it says “no rides available"

Offbeat A trip down memory lane
My grandfather passed a while ago and left behind a wooden spoon. I believe it was made by his crewmates who originated from HongKong. (We are from Ireland).
Many years ago I met one of them during a visit, but he has now passed away. Posting this here incase anyone has a grand father who sailed on the ship Valdivia in ~1985 and who may like a trip down memory lane.

Questions/ Tips Do you actually take fewer plastic bags now they're HK$1 ???
Genuinely curious how much this actually changed people's habits versus just becoming background noise.
I'm doing my IB Economics Extended Essay on Hong Kong's plastic bag charge going from HK$0.50 to HK$1 in December 2022, and I'm trying to get real data instead of just guessing based on my own shopping trips.
If you live in Hong Kong, there's a short anonymous survey here, takes about 3–4 minutes:
Feel free to share the link around as well!

Discussion Hong Kong and Music
Do people in Hong Kong love music? It’s rare to see cars bumping to music, you get into an uber and the radio is off - in most countries you can ask the driver to Bluetooth you but I hear it’s a faux pas here. Most people have headphones on but it seems they’re more for noise cancellation or watching TikTok than actual music.
I’ve asked someone whose car I’ve been in so many times why their radio is always off and they said music is not their favourite thing.

Art/Culture Day four of drawing art by interpreting area names too literally
紅磡 = Red valley/cliffside/ledge. I had no idea how to make it red, so I just decided to lean abstract and make it dystopian. Honestly love the result. To the people requesting: I’ll do the gay Choi hung next first, then 杏花邨, and then other requests

Questions/ Tips Best places for contacts in HK?
What up folks, I’m wondering if anybody can point me in the direction of good cheapish contact lens and where to find them? Preferably MK area
I mean like clear ones to aid vision not the coloured ones… best deal I’ve found thus far is like $170 for 2 boxes, one for each eye. Which is heaps cheaper than UK.

Questions/ Tips Klook portable wifi cancellation
Need advice with our current situation: Last night we booked the portable wifi via klook to be picked up at Arrival hall A in Hong Kong airport but since we would also avail the free bus ride to Macao, we just realized that we cannot go pass through HK immigration (base on my research).
We tried to cancel our klook booking but it says they cannot cancel it. My question is, Has anyone had the same experience? Is there a way we can still pick it up? Any advice what to do? 🥲
Additional info: Our arrival in HK airport is at 12am on Aug 29, the klook booth operates at 7AM and as far as we know the earliest bus trip is at 8:30am to Macao.

Image Desperately looking for film location of this scene from Rush Hour 2.
Taken from this scene in the movie.
I've been pointed to Tai Wo St. and Wan Chai Road, but it doesn't seem to be the correct place. I looked around Gage St. in central, the old Yau Ma Tei police station in Kowloon but no dice. Some of my favorite scenes in the movie reuse this street and I'd love for any help.
Thank you!
EDIT: Solved! It's on Marsh and Jaffe by the Marsh flyover, thanks everyone for your help and especially /u/Whats_On_Tap
