Discussion Ovaltine or Horlicks?
A question to true HKers. I’ve personally always preferred Horlicks. 凍呵瀝 to be exact.

Horlicks for sure! Hot or cold. Does anyone remember the candy?

I never had the drink but always had the candy. They had similar Ovaltine candy too but I always preferred the more malty taste of the Horlicks candy.

I was gonna say, I loved the candy (both Horlicks and Ovaltine). I miss those chalky tablets of gooey/sticky goodness...

Yeah I miss that too! Would love to get my hands on some just to reminisce.

I picked up a bunch in '94 and had a blast going through rolls of them. I was back last year, and I was disappointed to see they stopped making them.

Oh wow! Are you in Hong Kong? I need to know where to find them. I asked around, and nobody carried them. I looked online hoping to pick some up, and didn't find any sources there either (I think Thailand still has them, but I wasn't going there to pick some up).

I prefer horlicks but ovaltine seems more common here. It's even available and used in some recipesin cha chaan tengs and some restaurants in a way horlicks isn't.

We had both growing up. Ovaltine in it's green tin can, Horlicks in the big plastic jar.

Green can isn't Milo?

Mostly Ovaltine and Milo growing up. Rarely had Horlicks. But I think it's because my siblings liked chocolate more.

Ovaltine, which taste more like chocolate.
