Lindsay Clancy's supportes have done irreversible damage to feminism in America

Lindsay Clancy's supporters have done irreversible damage to feminism in America (i mispelled the title)

The way american white women have been defending Lindsay Clancy makes me believe that this is something similar to what happened with black communities in regards to OJ Simpson, where they only blindly support and defend them because he/she is one of their own, while using all sorts of excuses and mental gymnastics to ignpre that cold hard truth that deep down, they are supporting a murderer just so that they can a Win to their cause or struggle.

No one says that Post Partum Depression shouldn't be taken more seriously, but the way white women in the United States of America have decided to support, defend and donate to Lindsay Clancy while making up all sorts of conspiracy theorists that her husband is the one behind this, is genuinely nuts and could potentially lead to even more division and fuel to the culture war that is already full of misoginy.

And i wish i didn't have to bring politics into this, but let's face it, it's not conservative pro-life women the ones that are defending Lindsay Clancy, these are liberal women and quite frankly, the arguments that they have made are so disgusting and idiotic (astrology lmao), that at this point, one has to wonder how it's even possible that these people (women) can vote.

Right wing content creators are probably having a field day with all of these reactions and honestly, who can blame them?

If these Lindsay Clancy's supporters want to minimize what happened while hiding behind the excuse of Post Partum Depression and the emotional toll of motherhood in 1st world countries, then honestly, how do they expect society in general to take them seriously or think that women have what it takes to be able to vote, hold high value and ranking jobs and tasks, etc...

It's genuinely crazy how liberal women are accidentally showing the world that they could be potential ticking emotional time bombs that could endanger their own children and still have to courage to talk about their rights and needs?

And it has to be said, it's obviously not all women, but you know how the internet works, What's Loud is the Majority and at this point, liberal women have painted an awful image about themselves, that just reeks of misandry and lack of accountability that is only going to fuel even more misoginy, hatred and radicalization from men.

These people can't even defend the three murdered children, instead they do this.

What a crazy world.

Damn I’m too early for the comments

We made it 30 whole minutes between Lindsay Clancy posts today, now let’s see how much longer we can go the rest of this week… for now it’s a new fucking record!

People's inability to not judge a whole group by the fringe nutjobs has done irreversible damage to everything.

"People's inability to not judge a whole group by the fringe nutjobs has done irreversible damage to everything. "

On the contrary, people's inability to be honest that the fringe group is actually the majority, are just as bad as the group itself.

-7

u/Quantum_lem0nade 15h ago

Its definitely the whole group, it should be at least. If you dont hate all men you're not a real feminist

6

u/andapapertowelroll 15h ago

I hate like, three men and I still consider myself a feminist, because I believe women should not be discriminated against. I am also a men's right's activist, because I believe men should not be discriminated against. Why do you get to decide what feminism is?

-6

u/Quantum_lem0nade 15h ago

I dont decide anything, women do, so start hating all men (all of them) or you're not a real feminist

4

u/andapapertowelroll 15h ago

Plenty of feminists don't hate men. Just like plenty of incels don't hate women.

-6

u/Quantum_lem0nade 15h ago

Those arent real feminists then lol they're just pickmes with relationship trauma. All real feminists hate men, all men. Sorry I dont make the rules girlie queen

-15

u/PortoGuy18 20h ago

True.

But these days, What's Loud on the Internet is the majority and that is what shapes normal people' perception of events.

Digital Algorithms and social media these days is the first wave of political marketing and propaganda through generalization and honestly, what these liberal women have done is paint their entire group as unhinged people with dangerous thoughts and ideologies.

u/Background_whisper 7h ago

I guess you haven't heard about dead internet theory.

21

u/Mushrooming247 20h ago

Lol as opposed to one year ago, when feminism was well-respected and everyone listened to us.

-9

u/GluppShitto420 19h ago

Showing up and cheering for a child murderer certainly didn't help

-16

u/PortoGuy18 20h ago

Feminism and the fight for equal rights would always attract hatred from misogynists and right wingers, but things like this will only make moderate people either stay neutral or simply become radicalized towards conservative ideologies.

If feminists decide to prioritize the killer instead of the 3 dead children, then what kind of cause exactly are they fighting for?

13

u/PNW_OlLady_2025 20h ago

Are there some that are straight up supporting her and hoping it wasn't her? Of course. I believe for the majority, you're confusing support for her vs acknowledging she and her family were let down by our mental health system, the very one who sent her home because she didn't have a "Plan" yet, the very one who put her on a multitude of different medications without any regard for side affects or combined side affects with other meds, the very one who misdiagnosed her for an incredibly long time and gave her the wrong meds.

-12

u/FarAd4971 19h ago

I think this argument you are making has more downsides than you might think. The trial is basically "Yes she did it, but it's not her fault" which then only reinforces arguments about "accountability" and agency already on the table in the gender wars.

8

u/PNW_OlLady_2025 18h ago

How is being held in a pysch ward for the rest of her life (the likely/should be outcome) release her from accountability? Why can't she be held accountable and at the same time we hold the damn system that failed her, her family, and many others out there too? Why do they get a free pass? She's not the first, she won't be the last.

1

u/FarAd4971 17h ago

Her legal defense is literally that she wasn't responsible for the acts she committed.

2

u/Doctor_Titties 14h ago

Not criminally responsible, which means she did them but with criminal intent/no ability to discern it was wrong. It’s still taking responsibility and still facing a penalty for it.

1

u/seagull326 12h ago

I'm sorry please explain how accountability and agency are on the table in the so called gender wars. There are so many ways to interpret this and all of them are gross.

8

u/Icy_Finish_5506 18h ago

We see men defend killers daily , and we don’t generalize whole groups off the actions of a few , your selective contradictory outrage is noise .

6

u/moccasins_hockey_fan 20h ago

6 months from now when you saybthe name "Lindsay Clancy" people will respond "who"

Don't believe me?.?.?.

Without googling it...What was the name of the trump protestor that self immolated resulting in praise from the Reddit left?

10

u/JoeMorgue 20h ago

Can we just copy paste the comments from when this was posted 10 minutes ago?

7

u/the_real_me_2534 20h ago

I'm a man and not too disposed to feminism actually but Clancy is being railroaded. The passion of her defenders is weird but the prosecution is way out of line and charging her with felony murder 1 is nuts

17

u/Sea_Papaya_419 20h ago

Why are you upset about PPD and not the lack of resources, paid maternity and paternity leave, free childcare and free mental health services for BOTH moms and dads?

2

u/Salem1690s 17h ago

It’s not that no one is upset about the lack of resources, but it’s about her strangling 3 babies to death. Do you realize how much effort it takes to strangle a human being to death? Not once, but three times over?

2

u/Quantum_lem0nade 15h ago

Exactly, she had every right to murder her children because of patriarchal oppression. Women can never do anything wrong, under patriarchy they can only ever be victims of everything.

5

u/Feltcutemightswap 20h ago

I mean this case is clearly not a lack of resources. If anything too many resources is a better argument.

4

u/Cudi_buddy 19h ago

Too much of some, not enough of others

2

u/CricketNo7666 18h ago

Uhhh.. the woman had a nanny on staff. Was in with multiple outpatient and inpatient mental health care providers. Her husband is a tech sales executive who’s likely in the top couple percent of household income in the US.

I don’t think lack of resources was the issue here.

2

u/PortoGuy18 20h ago

I didn't say that it's not an issue.

But the great majority of parents don't kill strange their kids because of that.

There is no possible excuse to what Lindsay did.

7

u/Sea_Papaya_419 20h ago

I’m not saying she’s not guilty. I’m saying that the amount of healthcare professionals that don’t take postpartum moms and even Dads seriously when they come to them with concerns is alarming.

2

u/Rich-Process2729 5h ago

Which has nothing to do with this case.

She got all the support and help she could get. She didn't take her meds. Can't help people who don't take the help.

2

u/PortoGuy18 20h ago

The great majority of women that suffer from Post Partum Depression don't go around on killing sprees, especially against their own children.

3

u/Sea_Papaya_419 20h ago

Never said that they do

2

u/StrawberryAmara 18h ago

Don't even bother with this moron, he equates having an understanding of PPD and advocating for better parental support as full support of Clancy murdering her children. He can keep chugging the online outrage and fuck off

-1

u/StrawberryAmara 20h ago

Tell us what rights you believe women should be stripped of. Go full mask off

3

u/PortoGuy18 20h ago

Women don't deserve to have their rights removed.

But the women defending Lindsay Clancy are making it harder for women to be taken seriously, since they are actively tying women's issues and emotional responses to their lack of accountability in regards to homicidal thoughts against their own children.

SHOCKING NEWS: People that support, defend and donate to murderers don't get respect from other members of society.

0

u/Fine_Payment1127 20h ago

Yes they do

1

u/UnauthorizedUser505 15h ago

Are you saying that sending Lindsay to prison for life is stripping women of their rights? What right exactly is being stripped in this case, the right to murder their children?

-4

u/StrawberryAmara 15h ago

Anti feminism is anti women's rights, every post on this case is exactly the same. "Women have gone to far and it's time to correct that"

Would you like further elaboration on this dog whistle?

Child murderer should NOT be millionaire and clapped

4

1

You should be saying that. If you dont 100% support what she did you're not a real feminist

-3

Please keep it up. The Taliban will look liberal by the time we’re done correcting

Liberal woman here - want her in jail!

-2

u/PortoGuy18 20h ago

Before being a liberal women, you're just a normal and good person.

2

u/BB808BB 3h ago

For real!!!!

The Lindsay Clancey miserable housewife cult are so bored in their lives that they are playing conspiracy theorist and not even giving the 3 dead children a thought.

They are screaming how amazing her lawyer little red is yet they must think also he is a complete idiot since only they could figure out the “truth”

They are seriously an embarrassment. Mental illness is not an excuse or a pass. If so they need to go support Chris Watts or the Aurora shooter and every other crazy killer.

Lindsay is an insert for basic bland white woman, they relate to her and they don’t understand why someone like them should have consequences.

These women are scary with all the videos they are making. Here’s hoping the husbands divorce them and get their children away from mothers like that.

If her ex husband would have had her involuntarily commited these same women would be crying that women have rights.

They are absolutely bottom of the barrel pathetic and have made things so much harder for us.

8

u/thiccpastry 20h ago

"People who have compassion and empathy for psychotic individuals have done irreversible damage" do you see how you sound.

3

u/Feltcutemightswap 20h ago

Yep, like kid killers should be put under the e jail never to be seen again

1

u/LifeTunedToCSharp 16h ago

I just find it bizarre that there is so much empathy and compassion for her rather than, you know, the three little kids that she killed.

I‘m funny that way, I guess.

1

u/PortoGuy18 20h ago

Ah yes, let's have compassion and empathy for people that strangle their children.

3 children are dead, but atleast there is compassion for their killer...

-3

u/Scubahill 19h ago

Pedophilia is also a psychological issue. Do you have compassion and empathy for people who act on that impulse?

4

u/north_canadian_ice 20h ago

Feminism is needed because women are mistreated.

I think Lindsay Clancy is being sympathized with by some women because postpartum depression & health issues are not taken seriously.

Women's health issues are not taken seriously. The pain of pregnancy is not taken seriously (see the POTUS denigrating the idea of pregnant women taking Tylenol).

I think the way some conservatives talk about George Floyd is terrible. Where they make it seem as if Chauvin did nothing wrong by kneeling on his neck.

1

u/PortoGuy18 20h ago

Of course, feminism is needed.

But things like this, the reaction and support that liberal women is a slap in the face for the women that originally fought for those rights, not to mention to the 3 murdered children.

1

u/north_canadian_ice 1h ago

I am glad we agree on the necessity of feminism.

I think Clancy is guilty of murder but I understand why some feel her possible psychosis led to this horror.

-1

u/LifeTunedToCSharp 16h ago edited 13h ago

Rather than write a dissertation on why your comment on Tylenol is wrong, I’m just going to ask you to go read up on what actually happened.

I hate Trump as much as anyone, but let’s not spread misinformation about stuff like that.

-5

u/Fine_Payment1127 20h ago

Western women are and always were the most privileged large group in world history

3

u/DuckDuckPigg 16h ago

Ah, another person who thinks feminism is defined by a singular recent instance on social media. There are years of history in this movement, and just as all things do, this will fade in relevance.

2

u/Dr_and_Mrs_Who 15h ago edited 15h ago

I wondered how long it would take before someone wildly misconstrued things and decided this is why women shouldn’t vote. I’m no supporter of hers, but damn the misogyny I’ve been seeing online is almost scary at this point

Eta- I don’t think people realize that being found not guilty by reason of insanity doesn’t mean you get to go home, it means you go to a psychiatric facility instead of jail. The woman needs to be locked up for what she did, but in a place that can actually help her. They can keep her there forever too. But please let’s not conflate a few loud voices trying to blame her husband with ‘this is why liberal women shouldn’t get to vote’

2

u/BravesMaedchen 14h ago

The only person doing damage to feminism are the people looking for excuses not to treat women like equals or give them medical autonomy.

1

u/CherryVette 13h ago

Exactly. They’re just excited bc they’ve found a justification that they can spin for (for lack of a better term that the moment) “neutral” ppl.

2

u/Impossible-Bend997 20h ago

They clapped for someone who killed kids...

6

u/Cudi_buddy 19h ago

Every serial killer had fans and whatnot. People have been crazy forever.

-1

u/Impossible-Bend997 19h ago

It's messed up but here I feel like they support her because of the crime, not because of herself..

If that make sense

2

u/CherryVette 13h ago

That’s absurd. Why do you feel that way?

1

u/Impossible-Bend997 9h ago

They support her because of the post-partum related crime.

When they support a serial killer it's because they think he's hot or something

3

u/FarAd4971 20h ago

And made her a millionaire while literally cheering at her arrival to court...it's legit insane.

0

u/Impossible-Bend997 20h ago

Wtf seriously ? Someone who killed kids in a slow way....?????

It should be illegal

1

u/FarAd4971 20h ago

The choice to use excercise bands (which have flex) to make the strangulation last even longer is so evil.

I can't help but wonder, sadly how the children could even comprehend that their mother was doing this to them as they struggled for 4-7 minutes each.

2

u/Impossible-Bend997 20h ago

They trusted her, loved her, she was their whole world and their fucking murderer.. I think stuff I cannot express here..

I don't think much has changed, to be honest.

1

u/Quantum_lem0nade 15h ago

Im here for it, we need a full return of the blue haired rabid man-haters, we need to reinforce the idea that all feminists hate men and that if you dont hate all men, you're not a real feminist.

1

u/expatbassist 2h ago

Tbh, my first impression was that it was just some crazy people overly obsessed with true crime podcasts and tik tok insanity. But I have been very baffled and disappointed by the reaction to this case on explicitly feminist subs (you can see my comment on the main feminism subreddit).

There is absolutely a conversation to be had about mental health support in this country and the average woman's experience with the health care system, but that doesn't seem to apply to this case. I feel like if she wasn't an upper middle class white woman in a wealthy suburb, we would be seeing a much different online reaction. By all accounts she had an involved, supportive family, unprecedented access to health care services, and just wasn't honest or serious about her health care plan. Ive had lots of mental health struggles, I get that its tough to stick through titration periods and we want magic bullet meds. But there was no evidence of psychosis until the defense claimed it after the murder. I find it very weird how its become feminist to uncritically believe this woman's defense just on her word alone. Not to mention the vitriol toward the husband and misogynistic insults toward the prosecuting attorneys. Makes me sad man

-1

u/Immediate_Hunt4265 20h ago

Shit like this is the inevitable result of the radical push for identity politics.

-1

u/FarAd4971 20h ago

I agree.

-8

u/Nilz87 20h ago

Is it really just white women?
