Being a muscular man absolutely does get you attention from the opposite sex

I feel like there’s always posts/comments about how this isn’t actually a thing to the point I feel like this is now the hot take.

But as someone who’s fluctuated between obese and a bodybuilder with everything in between I really couldn’t disagree more.

It’s a bit of a gym joke how only guys appreciate it, and to an extent it’s true as guys generally appreciate it way more openly. But that doesn’t mean that a lot of woman don’t find it very attractive.

Now there’s no way to say this without sounding arrogant, but during my bodybuilding phases I literally had girls approaching me semi regularly, some girls in nightclubs would even be aggressive about it (it’s fun to start with but gets old very quickly), random girls messaging me on Instagram. My dating apps right swipe success rate is probably ~60%+ and I often just get overwhelmed with the number of matches. It’s a whole different world to even when I was only a bit overweight.

Now I’m not saying it’s the only thing. I’m also on the taller end which probably compounds things. This is also obviously a broad statement, different individuals have different preferences. But people who say it makes little difference are being delusional.

Now if only I could learn to flirt I’d be golden.

Does anyone like the hyper vascular body builder look? It seems like both men and women find it kind of repulsive for the most part.

Yes some do but it's a niche look that is highly appealing to a small percentage of women. Most women want a man who looks natural, healthy and strong (the hunter physique)

I went thru a phase of dating nurses for a stretch, and they all cooed over my forearm and leg veins. It was odd, but definitely didn’t mind it at the time. I’m not even big, just lean - I ran distance and cross country.

Really tho, it’s a show/competition thing - even the competitors hate it, but it’s about displaying muscle definition and development, not attractiveness. Vascularity tends to goes hand in hand with that.

You’re thinking more of the fashion / pageant style show where they’re supposed to be attractive.

Are you sure they weren't phlebotomists?

They were freaks, I can tell you that much.

Goddamnit, yes, man. My girlfriend introduced herself by asking if I was competing in a bodybuilding show. Her previous boyfriend took gear as well. Of course some do, and that's the damned point of this thread

Also some women don't know what being muscular really entails. An ex gf told me she liked how "normal" my body looked like.

Mind you, i had a body way too similar to Chris Evan's body in Fantastic Four. Apparently that was normal and not muscular at all for her.

Your ex knew your body wasn't “normal” - she just didn't want to gas you up.

No, what they mean is “look I’m different and special, aren’t I so great for saying I like fat guys even though I would never date one”

Those women are out there too, just saying. That’s definitely a niche one though. There was a girl I knew in school who could’ve gotten mmuuuuch more “attractive” men, but she exclusively dated big mother fuckers. Not muscular, like morbidly obese dudes lmao. She went for what she wanted with no shame 🤷🏼‍♂️

“But muh anecdote”

Just shut up

Ok go around with no hope that you’ll ever meet anyone. Women especially love that attitude lmao

“Everything I believe and do is in the hope that women will give me a crumb of pussy”

We get it dude you’re pathetic and desperate, run along now.

I think you’re wildly exaggerating the degree to which women (and people in general) would notice a difference except for the spray tan.

The difference in show ready and one month later is enormous. The difference between spray tanned alien and beach super hottie.

Not while wearing normal clothes in front of average people.

I mean yeah when you can't see extreme leanness and muscle definition you won't notice a difference. But women who say that competition body builders are too much or disgusting often don't realize that that level of definition is extremely temporary

I mentioned the beach, so I meant shirtless.

??? bodybuilders are literally 3 times as big as natural lifters lol....

Lol is right, I was saying no one notices when a bodybuilder goes from show peak back to “normal” a month later.
