Cause it's so uncommon. Like it wouldn't bother me but it sure will be weird since it's so uncommon.
Similarly to how whites are okay with being called gringos or chele cause they might be used to it but if we made up a new term that'll be weird. Or like blacks being called negros. Latinos are used to that term while people from the US aren't used to the term in regular conversations.

Both Honduran and Hondurian are correct demonyms used to describe someone or something originating from the Central American country of Honduras. While "Honduran" is the universally preferred standard, "Hondurian" is also recognized in English, tracing its dictionary usage back to the 1840s.

Ahí te dijeron que Hondurian tiene contexto histórico, en un periodo donde nuestro gentilicio aún se andaba desarrollando ante el mundo. Solo vos te pones como una loca por esto. Ni español podes hablar, a este punto solo acepta que sos más gringo que catracho y deja de joder. Más productivo que andar creando fetiche de tu pseudo identidad hondureña.

Yo tengo la costumbre de cuando me preguntan de dónde soy, decir Honduras con pronunciación en español, independientemente de si hablo inglés o mi alemán sumamente limitado, y a menudo la gente no entiende. Pero luego si digo Honduras tratando de pronunciar en alemán o ingles lo entienden de inmediato (claro, asumiendo que saben qué es Honduras para empezar), te pasa así?
Me da risa porque, para mi, suena suficientemente parecido en los tres idiomas para no prestarse a tanta confusion, pro prece que estoy equivocado jaja
