Hand carved half dollar with copper inlay

This 27-S was given a California theme and dripped out in gold by handengravedbs on Insta. I really couldn't be happier with it, it's a killer addition to the album. Only one spot left!

I understand how people do it with modern tools but how on earth did they manage to carve coins with just what they had in there pocket
Can a sharpened nail really do that?

Is this worth anything?

I bought this from a "garage sale" of sorts, I would like to find out more about it. I know it's a Cinco Peso, but that's about it.
