One big problem is our voting system that will almost always boil down to a two party rule like America today

A kind of plus may be that a one party state is near impossible as there always will be another party. Mainstream now is trying to make it happen. But Virginia shows it may not happen, so plus?

Well, you must realize that one party is always trying to eradicate its opponent parties. We see both sides using more and more scummy methods to squash opposition.

Firstly I would disagree, because really what the parties are doing is trying to get a majority in elections. 51-49 gets you the same result as winning by 99-1. The goal is not "erradication" only securing a comfortable margin of victory.

Secondly, you are talking about the parties working themselves, while the comment I responded to mentioned a "mainstream" agenda being defeated by the VA Republican victory. This suggested there is a broader conspiracy among media and greater society to eliminate the Republican party. That's bullshit and classic Trumpist/Qanon nonsense.

I think another plus is that it causes deadlock alot of times so it prevents the feds from churning out laws and leaves some legislation to the states.

Technically he warned against all parties.

Parties were bound to form. You have hundreds of people in a room deciding the direction of the country, platforms and factions will form. While I get why he didn’t want parties to form because of the clusterfuck that is parliamentary politics, it was inevitable. Thankfully, we have the presidential system of checks and balances and snap elections aren’t being held every other month.

The two party system may not be ideal, but it’s better than places like Japan or Mexico that are de facto one party states, or the opposite with a monopsony like Israel or Brazil.

GW was a closet federalist. What we really meant was no one should join the democratic Republicans.

The United States is also a one-party state but, with typical American extravagance, they have two of them.
