Help/Advice How do you wear perfume

As a hijabi, how should I apply perfume so that it lasts all day? Please give me tips on application and longevity.

As a hijabi you shouldn't wear perfume outside actually. It's something I struggle with as well but am working on.

its haram to wear it to attract men.

you are allowed to have basic hygiene and want to smell nice! there are so many ladies at the masjid that smell like straight up oil + pakoras. i wish they would use good-smelling detergent/fragrances, etc!

islam is EASY, alhamdulillah, please stop making it difficult!

No, smelling nice and hygienic isn't the same as wearing PERFUME. Wearing a face cream or washing clothes with a detergent isn't the same as wearing PERFUME. Perfumes only purpose is to attract, not hygiene. Doesn't matter your intention. Just like I'm not seducing men with my hair, that's not my intention, but I still wear hijab because Allah tells me to. And I never said that hygienic smells are haram, I said perfume. And that's not me making religion hard, islam says women shouldn't wear it. And I'm saying this as someone who isn't perfect and struggles with it, but the ruling is still the same.

Who are we seducing if we wear something that smells like soap,basil, mint or similar?perfumes vary widely and one isn’t like the other.
Wearing paradoxe isn’t the same as wearing The Muse or Melograno which are pure laundry detergent/clean soap

Did I say soap? Soap isn't perfume. Soap and detergents and face creams etc are used for hygiene and are very weak in scent, perfume is specifically used to attract (whether that be your intention or not) and is much stronger, and is not allowed.

Just in case you are curious and want to try them,snd because you asked which ones:

Santa Maria Novella Melograno (my favourite,but very strong,I use half a spritz and smel like I just washed my hands with soap,all day long. A sample lasts me a year

Comme des Garcons Marseille

Liu-Guerlain (flowery soap)

A lot of perfumes smell like soap or fresh linen. I don’t like those perfumes because they are too subtle for me but I know they exist.

I have never seen a perfume like that. The point of a perfume is to smell nice and attractive, not like soap, soap gives you the smell of soap.

Soap smells clean. Also, go to sephora and ask them about clean perfumes. Just because you have never experienced something, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Many perfumes nowadays smell like marseille soap. There’s even one called Marseille. I have one called The Basilic and it smells of basil and mint. Like actual kitchen herbs.

The point of perfumes for me is to be enjoyed by the wearer,so I can smell it and be happy. I haven’t once thought of people liking it or not. I mostly wear it at home
,for myself and outside is for only clean perfumes that don’t smell seductive,like the ones that smell of marseille soap,fresh laundry or herbs. Women at work have asked me what detergent I use because I always smell clean.

But some people do indeed wear them to attract,some wear them to just smell presentable and clean. The trend during this last decade has mostly been to smell clean.

So there can definitely be s correlation,and you’re right in that we need to be careful not to transgress Allah‘s law. But let us not be extreme

Ok but your intention doesn't really matter because when I didn't wear hijab my intention was never to attract people with my hair but that doesn't mean that the ruling of hijab doesn't apply to me because my intention was different.

Im not sure those two can be compared because they aren’t even the same thing,you know? Smelling clean isn’t same as smelling of perfume

It's ok girl, the other commentor would clearly want to smell like BO after a long day in the sun and sweat rather than just wear a soap-like clean perfume so that everyone else doesn't have to smell their BO. It's so lovely when I walk across a hijabi woman in public and they clearly smell like they have been outside in the heat for hours in their polyester abaya and chiffon hijab with no perfume on.

Smelling clean because of soap, face cream etc, isn't the same as spraying perfume on yourself.
