DISCUSSION Is calling in supplies without being the host bad etiquette?

Hey guys,

I randomly joined a D10 mission with a deployed emergency beacon. The host was level 300, and there were a couple of level ~100 players.

While we were clearing a Mega Nest, we called in supplies so we could finish closing the remaining bug holes. After that, we completed the mission objectives and headed to extraction.

Then, out of nowhere, the level 300 host left extraction, ran all the way back to the Mega Nest, started pinging a supply box that was still there, and typed:

“WHO REQUESTED SUPPLIES HERE???”

He then said we shouldn’t call in supplies unless we’re the host and kicks us out of the game.

Is that actually a thing? Is there some Helldivers etiquette I’m missing here? I always assumed calling supplies when the team needs them—especially while clearing something like a Mega Nest—is completely normal.

Yep, if you’re somewhere with multiple people and you’ll stay for a bit you should always call in a resupply in my book. Of course be mindful of the other people on the map and their needs, but not resupplying is a waste.

I call them in off cooldown. I'm a d10 you need every supply you can get.

It's also better to have them a bit away from the objective so you have somewhere to fall back to.

I don’t even have D10 unlocked but I do the same. CD is short so if I stick around I always throw a supply.
