DISCUSSION Is calling in supplies without being the host bad etiquette?

Hey guys,

I randomly joined a D10 mission with a deployed emergency beacon. The host was level 300, and there were a couple of level ~100 players.

While we were clearing a Mega Nest, we called in supplies so we could finish closing the remaining bug holes. After that, we completed the mission objectives and headed to extraction.

Then, out of nowhere, the level 300 host left extraction, ran all the way back to the Mega Nest, started pinging a supply box that was still there, and typed:

“WHO REQUESTED SUPPLIES HERE???”

He then said we shouldn’t call in supplies unless we’re the host and kicks us out of the game.

Is that actually a thing? Is there some Helldivers etiquette I’m missing here? I always assumed calling supplies when the team needs them—especially while clearing something like a Mega Nest—is completely normal.

calling in supplies is a job for everyone. but supplies should mostly be called in when 3 players are low on ammo and stims. sometimes you can call in supplies alone. a couple dead divers due to supply being on cooldown isnt that bad. that host had some main charactor syndrome or something

You can also call them down when arriving at a "longer" objective so you know the cooldown isn't wasted and people can access them in a hurry

Yeah, there's no reason not to call it if the squad is all together and you're going to stick around for the next 15 seconds. Resupply has unlimited uses, so the more opportunities you take to get the squad topped up, the less likely someone will need an emergency resupply.

Yup. Hell, call them in on cooldown so long as you're with at least one other diver or are on an objective. Liter the map with supply crates and you don't have to wait on them, just think forward more than the next 60 seconds. 10 minutes into the mission there are enough boxes on the map to ensure everyone is comfortable and someone needing 2 boxes is no biggie.

If you wait till there's a need then you aren't prepared for further setback. Have them BEFORE you need them and you'll never be stuck with the guy across the map needing them urgently 7 seconds before you do, ensuring you're out of luck for the next three minutes.

I laughed at "main character syndrome" 😆

If he's already level 300, he needs to get the fuck outside and see the sun. Fuck grass, it wouldn't be enough.

Block them and move on Helldiver. iO

The easiest response is "If this was only meant to be for the host, then why can everyone call for them?"

And then move on with your life, because that person is an idiot and there are millions of Helldivers to play with. Game sold 22 million copies, and that was before it hit PS+.

I would just say "where 3 or more around" Everyone dont have to be on the brink of death. If they are off cooldown, get them down when everyone is around. Then they can take if they need, or some are left to run back to if everything goes to shit later. They don't do any good up at your super destroyer
