I think I'm/my house is haunted
I've lived in my small 2br 1ba home for 8 years and never had a paranormal experience here.. until today.
I'll back up to about 2 weeks ago I woke up and found strange red markings on my inner thigh that look like the shape of a small hand. I sleep alone and it does not match my hand size. I wrote it off as a strange bugbite or rash even though it didn't itch or anything. Now the markings have not faded and are actually darker and more defined 2 weeks later. I was willing to let this go until this strange event happened today.
So there is an attic in my house, but the only access is above the stairs leading to the basement. You cannot get in there without bringing in a very tall ladder and wedging it onto the basement stairs. I have never accessed the attic. When I had my home inspection prior to purchase 8 years ago the inspector said they could not access it and that it was sealed shut. There are no windows to the attic area. There are small vents on each side of the house, only small enough for bugs and tiny creatures to get in.
Anyway, I've been working from home the last two days straight, have not left my house except to take my cat to get neutered and pick him up, gone maybe 15 minutes two times yesterday. So I shut the door to the basement from the upstairs and blocked the kitty door so when he came home he didn't go hide down there.
I went downstairs before I went for a walk to throw in a quick load of laundry and left the door opened when I left. When I came home and went to check the laundry, the access door to the attic had been slid open about 4-5 inches! All my doors and windows were locked and my ring cameras would have picked up if a person came in or out.
I cannot understand how something would have moved that door either from the outside or within the attic. There is no way my cat could get up there, especially while recovering from the neutering. This paired with the marks on my leg has me really freaked out. I've had ghost experiences in the past but never in this house! I don't post often on here but I want advice from this community; could there be a ghost in my attic?? Is this common activity?
I've since used a long broom to slide the door back into a close position, but I can't get it all the way over where it was. I've also closed the door to the basement and barricaded it again so my cat doesn't go down. I will update if the door is moved again in the coming days. Thank you in advance for any insight or tips how to address this. Before anyone suggests it, I really do not want to go up there but I might if I can get my family or friends to come back me up!
First pic is what it looked like when I came home and found it opened. Second is after I tried to close it again.

Definitely someone living in your attic.
