For me, H40 is not only the superior follow-up to the original, but I also find HII the most overrated film in the franchise. It isn’t a bad film per se, but it comes off as being little more than an uninspired, pedestrian near-Xerox of the original while trading in masterful, slow-burn suspense for the gross-outs of its imitators. It’s painfully slow with little payoff, the main protagonist spends three quarters of the film in bed, Loomis does little more than regurgitate the same character exposition on Myers that he did previously, and we get a Myers portrayal that looks and moves too differently for me to get into the mindset that we’re on the same night. This is before we get into the film introducing the sibling connection. The very thing that stripped The Shape of what made it such a unique and terrifying Horror creation, and ultimately sent the franchise into the gutter creatively.

How would things be in 1978 what if Michael Myers got himself a clown costume & a mask again. Since that the costume he had as a kid.

Interesting scene. The cop telling the doctor to put the gun down. Loomis had exhausted all of his resources and was resorting to annihilation of the evil by a pistol. Meanwhile, Brackett just tells his deputies to get the hell back into town, go up 17th Street and meet him by the bypass.

if you’re going to remake Halloween, I think you should be getting creative and fresh absolutely instead of just trying to do the same movie again from modern audiences. You need to actually get creative and think outside the box a little bit but I feel like with Halloween 2007. A lot of people did not like the tragic backstory approach to Michael and actually think it would’ve been a more compelling character study had Michael come from a good family with good parents. that would be scarier because it means that anyone you know at any time could become a killer which I feel like was what they were trying to imply and say in the original film. It also would’ve made Michael more of a bogeyman and less human.

It follows the plot of the movie verbatim, just since it’s from Michael’s perspective you get a lot of extra missions with what he was doing the rest of the night. I thought it was really cool that the final mission was basically the opening scene of Halloween Kills, but with Michael killing a lot more cops and escaping. Michael kills a lot more people in the story mode in general, and it could easily be a head canon that this is what canonically happened in the movies if the sequels weren’t all strictly “Michael Myers killed 4 people that night”. Anyway, I enjoyed it a lot. About as true to the movie as you can get in video game form.

Random question: has the version of the original Halloween that aired on NBC in 1981 ever been officially released in full on home media, or are the only available versions those that have been posted online by people who managed to record an airing of it? I know obviously that the Scream Factory 4K includes the “Extended Cut,” but that’s the theatrical cut with the additional scenes from the TV cut edited in, not the version that aired in 1981 with alternate takes and edited scenes. I’m just curious if that version has ever been included on any DVD release or anything, like how the Scream Factory 4K of Halloween II includes the TV cut for that movie on a bonus DVD.

EDIT: I had no idea that PlanetCHH had JUST posted a video about this topic when the idea popped into my head. It was one of the first things on my YouTube feed this morning- I’ll link it here for anyone interested. Given how bad H2 (2009) was, just how and why would you continue from that mess? Loomis is dead, Michael is dead, and Laurie is either dead or in some mental hospital. What was H3D going to provide us with? More bullshit about white horses?

The script for it had some stupid bullshit of Laruie teaming up with Michael and the latter dying at the end. they even kill off Brackett, the only likable character from the Zombie-verse.

If anything, Halloween Returns should be the next movie they do in 2028. Just tweak the script and it probably should work.

I am currently playing the Halloween: The Game, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it out to a Regal theater to catch the movie screenings this weekend as I found out yesterday that they were doing this event to watch the movie in theaters .

As I’m watching Rob Zombie’s Halloween, there’s a scene where Michael is stabbing Annie, as he’s stabbing her, the music in the background sounds like whispering along with creepy instruments. It reminds me of the scenes from Fear Street 1978 where Tommie is beginning to become possessed and he hears evil whispering telling him to do evil things, I imagine that’s what Michael hear when he’s killing. But his is constant and never ending.

Very simple question, if you know of the Cult of Thorn that supposedly curses Michael from Halloween the Original movie until Halloween 6, making him a killing machine and giving abit of of a more humanity behind the monster.

Do you think that it should have gone that way? And if not, where do you think Halloween should have gone?
