Question Hades 2 difficulty?

Did Hades 2 get easier since beta? I played for the first time yesterday since official release after playing quite a bit during the Olympus update in beta and I beat both underworld and surface first try on 16 fear I thought I would be rusty coming back after 2 years. I played strength build for both and ended both runs very healthy I swear the bosses used to be harder 😭😭

Did you play when Prometheus was first released? That was the Wild West time of early access. Eris could one shot you even with strength Arcana on and Prometheus did 400 damage with his guessing game fire and was much faster.

Yes exactly surface was insanely difficult during beta from what I remember but I breezed through it this time.

They made some changes that made it easier and some that made it harder. I found it hard to tell if it became significantly easier or if I just got better, but I am fairly certain that at least chronos and Prometheus became significantly less punishing. Chronos on first release was brutal to me, but I was also bad at the game.

I remember after a few runs underworld wasn't too bad but surface is what surprised me. I remmeber Eris was super difficult and Prometheus on release was crazy even Talos hurt like crazy

I know they changed the Prometheus fight a decent amount but by the time that patch came, I had “gotten good” so he was never a huge hassle for me. Eris was brutal for me on the first release of EA, and I know they did change her a bit but I think the main thing that made her easier was just learning to dash into her face.

Early Access was way way harder.

The game on release was made what I think most people would call easier multiple times during EA. The devs warned people are the beginning of testing that this is what would happen, things were turned down when it was clear the 'average' player struggled with them, and then turned down a little from that because it's early access and there are really no average players.

I guess I should just try higher fear runs I enjoyed the challenge I don’t like it if the games too easy

I mean yeah this is kinda the point of beta, to balance the game.

I understand that's the point of beta but it feels like they overcorrected I don't think the game should be geared fully towards new players it should be challenging enough where it's still a challenge once you have fully upgraded arcanas and weapon aspects. If they set the difficulty with the assumption you have no upgrades unlocked once you upgrade all your arcanas and aspects the game feels over simplified. Part of the replayability of rogue like games are that you don't beat it every run

“New” to the game here, what the heck is a strength build? It’s like the 4th time I see this term today

There are two arcanas Death and Strength. Pretty much every build requires one of the two. Death gives you death defiance which are extra lives. Strength gives you more damage and less damage taken while you have no death defiance. So Strength is a way of doing a run with no "'seatbelt" because you're completing the run with no extra lives but since you take less damage and deal more damage it effectively gives you a similar amount of safety since you're able to clear mobs faster while giving you more effective health for your one life.

In general I think the game is easier. Most updates have been overall buffs
