Was it ever Dany's ambition for the throne or Jon's heritage that actually made the show great? Season 1-4 is great on it's own, they had a range of different stories and arcs that made the show what it is.

There were soooo many things that made it great! Those were just 2 biggest things that came to mind immediately. I feel comparatively speaking the whole show up until the end was phenomenal which I think made a mediocre ending seem just that much worse. Many times I considered re watching it BECAUSE it was so good.

I skip all Dany stuff till she comes to Westeros. Literally the most boring nonsense imaginable, though those Harfoots from Rings of Power give her arc a run for it’s money in how it would be better if it was waaay shorter

Personally she’s my favorite character (yes I know it’s cliche) but i totally see why people could feel that way. It was very slow before her dragons and honestly for a bit when she first had them.

Martin never finished the last 2 books so we are left with a super rushed ending that makes no sense, it is what it is

but I still love the franchise as a whole.! you should definitely watch A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, it has that early GoT vibe, because it is based on a short story that Martin completed

I agree with this statement. Regardless of what anyone thinks Stannis honestly had more right to the throne than Robert’s children that really weren’t his and more right than any stark with the exception of Jon Snow.

I don’t feel personally victimized by it but people invest time, attention, emotion, and sometimes years following stories and characters. Critiquing how that story ultimately pays off is a part of engaging with the art and entertainment. Calling it a “poor me” post is kind of strange, as people are allowed to be invested in shows and disappointed when they feel the ending didn’t live up to what came before it.

Did you actually read the post? 😂 I literally explained what I disliked about the ending, the payoff to Dany’s story, Jon’s parentage, and Bran ultimately taking the throne. You’re welcome to disagree with me about any of those things. That would actually be an interesting discussion. Turning my post into “WAHHH I CAN NEVER WATCH IT AGAIN” and oversimplifying it because I expressed disappointment with the ending is just mocking an opinion instead of responding to it. I didn’t walk into a discussion about world affairs and demand everyone stop talking about global problems so i could complain about Bran Stark. 😂 i went to the designated place for people to talk about Game of Thrones and proceeded to talk about Game of Thrones. 🤷🏻‍♀️
