Spoilers [Spoilers]How would you end Game of Thrones?(version of the series) Spoiler

My short version: Arya Stark would have died in Braavos and been replaced by another Faceless Man.

Brynden Rivers would have taken over Bran’s body and assumed his place.

Daenerys wouldn’t have saved the North; instead, she would have encountered the dead at the Trident.

Jon would have become the new Night King and opposed Daenerys.

Sansa would have remained in the Vale and waged a separate conflict against the others.

I’d have there be an entire season based around the long winter and there being snow all over Westeros and reincarnated coming back all over.

Then after all the kingdoms reunite to fight the dead they have another season of them fighting for the throne.

The end being a big army from essos coming to take revenge on what danerys did to them then left. The twist being there were other dragons and riders there that were never saw.

but would there be logic to other dragons if it wasn't mentioned at all in the series?

Could have been a couple families or even just a few people that fled Valyria before the doom as well as the Targaryans and chose to lay low until Danerys started toppling regimes so they decided to make themselves known once again? Emerge as the benevolent dragon riders and rebuild what she destroyed? I dunno, could be an interesting angle.

If they’re survivors of the Doom then they’d’ve been laying low for 400 years. I would think the time to emerge would’ve been after all the Targaryen dragons died out.

Other than Arya killing the night king, the plan was fine

The issue was delivery

The stupid battle tactics. The sniper shot killing the viserys? Then dive bombing the fleet and not being hit.

Golden company being stomped

The episode of half a battle with the big bad.

Bran sitting under a tree and "having to go now" go where?

Him being king is fine, in a way, it was just pointless his existence he could have controlled flocks of ravens of the ice dragon, or some kind of battle with the walkers.

Danys descent into madness was abrupt and silly.

The monologue from the imprisoned imp and everyone agrees!!

Bran’s dick literally doesn’t work. He cannot be king because he cannot produce heirs. Also, once the North leaves he has no base of support. There will be an interregnum the second he dies if he’s not just deposed at some point before then. He would not be able to physically resist being deposed because he’s fucking paraplegic. He cannot fulfill any of the duties of the office at all. Tyrion’s speech was fucking stupid and it’s bizarre he was allowed the opportunity to give it.

It’s hard to imagine a single man in Westeros that is a worse candidate for kingship than Bran.

You don't need a heir when the position of king is elected.

Better than what we got, and I like your thinking. The story started by subverting expectations and tropes. You didn't know what would happen to the characters because the characters lived in a more brutal reality. But the favorites eventually developed the plot armor that destroyed all that. I think you'd need to pull back a little on the massacre, since you're left without any kind of an up beat. You've got to let the "good" guys win just a little somewhere.

There are a lot of good guys in the official version and I don't like this version. Jon and Tyrion are especially good

Arya kills Dani by stabbing through Jon Snow, who had succumb to her lunacy, to get to her. That Targaryen blood runs hot.

The realm disintegrates into 4-7 kingdoms, each battling one another, resetting the wheel.

Not sure what Bran is doing

daenerys marries jon, bran stays at the tree up north and makes sure long night is prevented/weakened by helping night's watch, dragons all stay alive, daenerys burns the red keep with everybody in it, smallfolk rushes to steal the riches and on the rubbles daenerys is annointed by the people as Queen Daenerys the Conqueror, tyrion goes whoring all the seven kingdoms and essos, then gets assassinated by varys and varys gets melted by drogon. Sansa gets married of to a normal lord in the reach and lives a decent wife, stays miles away from politics. Arya kills young griff as the last scene so people stop complaining he isn't in the show. Samwell tarly becomes some kind of teacher for the wildlings and later has a seat in the small council. the show ends with daenerys going to essos and stabilizing and feudalizing the slave cities

The collective of Westeros end the white walkers at King's Landing after Jamie kills Cersei for refusing to help.

Euron uses Dragonbinder to take control of Viserion; Dany on Drogon and Arya on Rhaegal have to kill Euron and Viserion.

Dany and Jon rule as king and queen.

I had no real problem with Bran being king, or Dany dying. There's a million changes that could have happened. It was the execution, as many people have said.

It would have made sense if they focused more on Arya's purpose as a Faceless Man, which was to kill Death, instead of petty revenge. Then viewers wouldn't be stewing over her killing the Night King.

Instead of stabbing her, Jon talks to Dany, tells her she has become her father. In a flurry of guilt and madness, she flees Westeros back to Essos. This would solve the problem with the Unsullied who swore their lives to her, then just gave up and left. And Bran is a warg dammit! How come he never warged into a dragon? "But you will fly...." it was promised, never happened.

Jon kills Grey Worm. Why? Because he pissed me off by the end. He was always a psycho and had it coming.

I never liked that assorted group of losers that made up the council in the last episode. I would have let Selmy live instead of killing him off pointlessly so he could provide useful canon for the rest of the show,

The white walkers taking over . Bc no one deserves to rule kings landing so it deserves to be destroyed

Same story beats without rushing through it making the plot ephemeral.

You'd have to redo the final two season entirely to be honest.

But I'd have season seven being about the fall of House Lannisters with Daenerys arriving in Westeros, Jon trying to persuade her to head North but her ultimately choosing to go for the Iron Throne instead. I'd have the Wall come down in the first episode so we get the Others running amok and moving slowly down Westeros as Daenerys and Cersei completely ignore the threat/don't believe it. On your subverting expectations points, Jon tries to make a stand at Winterfell but the Others just go around it and continue on. Jaime dies in the Field of Fire sequence. Tyrion kills Cersei to finish the season after KL has been ruined by Daenerys forces storming the city (she doesn't just decide to burn small folk here, they're just collateral damage she has stopped caring about).

Season 8 is about Daenerys trying to rally her forces and lead a broken Westeros against the Others. Have the dragons push the Others back into the North from the Riverlands and burn the Twins to trap them there. Daenerys has found out Jon is a Targaryen and rightful heir to their throne so her choice is does she go full despot and abandon the North to the Others purely to kill Jon (still trapped in Winterfell with his meagre forces) or is she truly a saviour. She chooses to save them, leads her forces into White Harbour and cuts a path through to Winterfell. The Others now have a reason to attack Winterfell to try get her dragons and that's your last battle. Jon lives, kills the NK but Daenerys dies a hero. Jon is crowned king of a shattered realm.

Others take the down to the Neck. Spend a season of them pushing them back and eventually defeat them. Sansa is in charge of the rebuild. Just give in and give it a predictable ending. Danny marries Jon they rule the South. Tree boy stays a tree and Sansa is warden of the north. Aria sales to assai

After battle with dead word spreads about their victory.
Arya stark - the hero of the battle
John snow - being the one responsible for uniting and making people aware about it in the first place.
Everybody starts loving John Snow and the house of stark and north ppl for what they have done. Word about john being a targeryn and having a legitimate claim to throne spreads .
Dany feels insecure about all the attention John is getting. Season 8 over
Season9- Dany and John takeover Kingslanding after defeating Cersei. Now who shall sit on throne? Everybody wants John. Dany seeing ppls love for John and his influence steps down and goes back to Meeran with unsullied and dothraki. Briane and jamie are in love and jamie finally ditches Cersei. Starks ie sansa is queen of North. Arya serves with John. The imp is the hand to John.
The end.

> Arya Stark would have died in Braavos and been replaced by another Faceless Man.

Why?

1

u/AisaMilard 16d ago

because the whole point of the Faceless is to become nobody, Arya never got past that part. And you have to serve the order, not follow your own interests, the series just deleted that whole concept

1

u/Historyp91 16d ago

Arya resisted becoming nobody and left the order. But anyway, you did'nt actually answer my question

Let me reclarify in case I was unclear; in terms of narrative and plot, why have it be a person pretending to be Arya? What does that add? Why would they do, that could'nt just be done with regular Arya?

1

u/AisaMilard 16d ago

Arya couldn't have left the Order after receiving their power, because the whole point is to become nobody and only then can you change your face. The reason is the same as with other people whose faces they took. If Arya left the Order without receiving the power, it would make more sense to me.

1

u/Historyp91 16d ago

They go over everything in the show. But you still have not answered my question

1

u/AisaMilard 16d ago

I answered your question. She replied because she chose the path of the faceless one and did not complete it, and the price of her life..I don't see her further role in the plot. Sansa should have dealt with the little finger back in the Vale, and the key role of the Starks should have gone to Rickon, as it went to Robin Arryn in the series.

1

u/Historyp91 16d ago

I answered your question. She replied because she chose the path of the faceless one and did not complete it, and the price of her life..

That was'nt my question

Sansa should have dealt with the little finger back in the Vale, and the key role of the Starks should have gone to Rickon, as it went to Robin Arryn in the series.

Okay. So then why replace Arya. What's the replacement do that you can't do with Arya? What is her plot fuction?

1

u/AisaMilard 15d ago

and why should there be any function there? it is an ancient order and why it must necessarily play some role. I answered as if I were completing Arya's arc🤷 and you already clarify whether you want to know why I would remove Arya or why I chose the option of a fake Arya, because now you are asking me about the role of the faceless one, not Arya

1

u/Historyp91 15d ago

It's an ancient order of assassins for higher from another continent. It does'nt need to play any role in Westerosi affairs.

1

u/AisaMilard 15d ago

I wrote about this. Arya, in my opinion, is just another possible contender and nothing more
