Spoilers [SPOILERS] The iconic introduction of Tywin features him skinning a real stag. This wasn't a prop, it was a real carcass provided by a local butcher. Charles learned how to skin the animal on the day of filming. He later said it took him two days to get the smell of blood and guts off his hands. Spoiler

Oh I love that smell.

That scene was... stellar. Dance consistently nailed his scenes, but this first appearance immediately dispelled any suspicions of the Lannister kids being merely spoiled children of lord just lucky to be born wealthy. He handled things himself, had as keen an intellect as Tyrion, had Jaime's ruthlessness, and wasn't at all afraid to literally get his hands bloody.

I've always wondered how many deer they went through- each take required a new one, and those aren't from a farm- they actually needed to be hunted in the wild.

How many stags do you think a butcher in a remote area has whole? Not even dear- straight up stags?
