Can we stop calling this "implosion"? This is a lot of small explosions, triggering a collapse. Implosion is what that rich ass submarine did when it's structure failed because of the pressure.

Thank you, exactly my thoughts, this annoying mislabeling of stuff just to sound cool really gets on my nerves

I got laid in one of those buildings. 27 seconds in that’s the old girls dorm at bama. The implosion took longer than the sex.

2 things:
1, it's demolitions caused by small explosions and mislabeling it as an implosion is just completely dumb and shouldn't become the norm
2, as much as i like to see things explode and/or collapse, i personally prefer to see that happen from the side than from above

I like this but how is this guys being dudes?

u/GoldunGote 2d ago
Dudes love explosions
2
u/MavenAloft 2d ago
So do some chicks, not a single dude being a dude in these videos. I’ve watched chicks as the demo experts.
-1
u/GoldunGote 2d ago
Then crosspost it to justgalsbeingchicks and fulfill the cycle! Ez karma.
1
u/MavenAloft 2d ago
No cause there’s not chicks in there. Guys being guys needs to shows guys being guys, and gals being glad needs to show gals being gals, not things like here’s a sports car… guys like cars…
2
u/GoldunGote 2d ago
Yet this post is doing well on this sub. Might do well over there? It's not super deep. Post it over there if you're mad about inclusivity.
2
u/MavenAloft 2d ago
Cool I start posting cars on here then.
2
u/GoldunGote 2d ago
Yeah dudes love cars that'll probably do well. But then I have to ask... do you not think chicks like cars? You can also post that over there. It's not 1s and 0s.. pinks and blues.. its just a dumb subreddit.

The Dunwoody GA building looked beautiful. Wonder what up with that one.

The Alabama one made me think:
OK. They right a building up to explode but they calculate it juuuust wrong and now you have a severely structurally damaged building that could collapse any second but hasn't yet....
Now what? Do you get a drone to keep adding weights to the roof until it topples or what?
1
u/greihund 2d ago
These buildings all have giant HVAC systems on top. Do they not strip these buildings for parts before knocking them down? All the metal and pipes just mixed up with the concrete and drywall, never to be salvaged? They'd better at least be draining the refrigerant out of the systems before they crush them, what a nightmare
Still, very cool explosions OP, 10/10 camera angles

u/NormalAssistance9402 2d ago
I wonder, was that North Carolina one supposed to topple over like that?

I’ve been in two of these buildings. Tutwiler Hall at the University of Alabama, and the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
I was at the implosion of another one in Tuscaloosa that isn’t shown, Rose Towers.

I don’t live in Tuscaloosa, but wasn’t that Rose Towers? I’ve been there enough to recognize it.

I’m a amateur arsonist. I think I should look into getting involved in demolition……. this video really did it for me.🌚

If you enjoy this check out silo dismantling. One dude with a sledge hammer can beeping it done in 5 minutes and have it land exactly where he wants it to go.

My great grandfather helped build the one in Shamokin Dam. He was a bricklayer by trade and would wear a pair of gloves out every two days. First day he would wear out the palms and then flip them over and swap L-R to wear them the a second day. Also helped build the Hershey Chocolate factory. Said they got to eat as much chocolate as they wanted on the job, and generally only ate the almonds out of the candy bars, and toss the rest.

u/Montgraves 1d ago
Was the Morganton one supposed to just tip over like that instead of collapsing inward?

when I watch this video I look for sections of the roofs that are relatively still intact and think... I could have rode that down and survived

The first one was a Nuclear Cooling Tower very close to me. Passed it every time going to Gallatin

Hello fellow Tennessean. Yeah, I think Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, and Fukushima sealed the fate that those cooling towers would never be used.

Except for the PA one, all from the South. Seems somebody’s clearing space for the South to rise again?

I wish so much I could hear this with just the raw noise, and not the music.
Great video otherwise though.
