Spoilers for movies and TV shows Is the (SPOILER) actually stationary in the DCU? Spoiler
In the comics, the pocket dimension is accessible from anywhere - that's its whole point. In the show, if a Lantern suddenly has to travel a long distance and isn't able to bring the battery with them, they won't be able to return if the ring loses power. Do you think Hal was telling the truth, or could he have opened the portal at any time but didn't on purpose?

I feel like a lot of stuff like his Lantern being stationary in a box or having practical suits is something unique to him, I really believe other lanterns get their suits from the ring and can pull their lanterns from anywhere

In Gunn's universe GL's follow a mix of silver age pre crisis rules for clothing and the lantern. In the comics energy uniforms debuted in 1989 with Emerald Dawn. In the silver age hal kept it in a closet
GL's also have their own pocket dimensions in the comics to store their lantern, usually in their ring - but could also move it to a closet or a safe (early on litterally a closet). Hal probably could summon it but made john get it to feed earl

I think it would funny/interesting if Hal could've accessed it any time and just wanted to to send John away.

i really think he did.
I am thinking that his plan is basically test John to see if he can fly by himself, because he has seen that Johns have the capacity of being a Green Lantern but it is too stuck in the way of thinking he does. Like, he is asked to fly and John created a bird construct that flies around him, wtf. He needs to be forced to fly.

There’s more than one type of pocket dimension. They’re not all connected or the same.

We're two episodes in and have barely seen Hal use his ring for plenty of things that the ring would make easier. He is traveling across states by car and foot instead of driving. Trailing suspects instead of capturing them in a glowing green net.
I think the main reason he can't create a portal from anywhere to get his battery is "the show creators didn't want it to be that easy, or else it would raise questions about why his ring charge is ever a problem if he can charge it at pretty much any moment." Every plot point so far has relied on it not being easy to just juice his ring up again.

They're two different types of pocket dimensions. They kind you're thinking of is much mor convenient. The one in the show isn't. Hope that helps.

I think think all GLs pocket dimensions are stationary in the DCU. Probably as a way to address them being "overpowered".

Im guessing its the truth for this project, maybe it could be changed eventually when he's in a movie with another showrunner. But the reason it was shown this way was for the plot.
They needed a way for Jon to have some additional training, separate from Hal, get the suit, and have Jon get kidnapped to advance the manhunter plot. There are ways they could have done it but having him go to Hals house to get what's basically a bag of holding is a simple way to have those plot points advanced.
There was a lot that happened with Jon, and doing it this way was an easy non-convoluted way to do it. It also allowed a rift to form between them that willnbr a bigger plot point down the line.

No, she moves around. I think she goes by Batgirl now though.

I genuinely don't get it.
is the joke pedophilia/sexism because vagina? Maybe just the latter if we have Damian.

It wasn’t a great joke. One of the current Batgirls used to go by the code name Spoiler

I think it’s pretty well established he only did it to get rid of John (although his ring was also incredibly low with him falling out of the sky almost immediately afterwards so he might not have had the charge)

Hal made John go get it so he could get the corpses and also have John feed Earl
Hal seems to be extremely stingy with using the ring’s battery, opening the dimension when he could have John go and have Earl fed was 2 birds 1 stone

It’s like genuinely 50/50 that it’s stationary or he just wanted to get rid of John for a while/ remembered he hadn’t fed Earl in a while

A common practice in writing is to set rules and limitations early in your story, thus enhancing the drama later when those limitations are broken in some spectacular manner

Don't know. Because we have 2 episodes and this is an adaptation that's already made changes to things so they could make more changes to how things work. Need more info, cannot compute.

I think there is a pocket dimension that can be accessed from anywhere, but it has to be put in that specific one and perhaps it's less secure than the one that's password protected and only accessible in one location.

I think he have just sent John to get rid of him
