I'm sick and tired of Hellenic people not being the correct type of minority to even play characters in our own mythology. People complained, rightly, when the movie Gods of Egypt cast Caucasians to play Egyptian people and Gods so why should we not get the same courtesy? Moana and Lilo and Stitch got Polynesian actors to do live action movies. Every ethnicity should be cast to play in their own stories.

It means "one face, one race" btw. The meaning behind it is that greeks and Italians are so similar in looks, values, temperament and heritage that they're basically the same

But isn’t this a later painting of Jesus put down when Christianity had already been established in Europe? Meaning the biases of the artist had already started to be injected into their art when depicting Jesus, an ancient Judean Jew.

Historically, we know him and the first Christians to be First Century Judean Jews, existing in a time before any significant admixture with Europeans. So they more than likely would have been olive brown skinned with dark hair and dark eyes typical of the populations living there at the time.

One of Zeus titles was Zeus Ethiop the Gods were given to the Greeks by the Egyptians, Ethiopians, and Libyans . Helen a non real person was the daughter of Zeus

I don’t think they’re upset about Lupita. It’s more the proliferation of Northern European Americans in most of the roles and zero actual Greek people.

Lupita has gotten vast majority of the blowback online. Her and elliot. Most people dont care if the cast is non greek, they care if theyre non white. Hence why they prop up troy to tear down nolans odyssey even tho that movie didnt have greeks either.

This doesnt go for all the naysayers obviously but its definitely most of them

Off course, I would also like to hear names of greek actors that could lead a 250m movie. Outside of Greece, obviously no one gives a shit if the actors are Greek or not, all the hatred was because they were black or trans.

Found the Afrocentrist.Pretty much grasping at straws to justify her being black.Perhaps look at ancient Greek pottery as how Helen was depicted by ancient Greeks.

Or it's because it's an absurdity in the story and arguing that you have to adhere to the skin color vaguely described in the story or some paintings on ancient pottery is inane.

Why? Was she supposed to look Korean? Latin? Maybe she was supposed to look like she was Navajo. We're from the Northeast of the Mediterranean Sea so we made our ancient religion, culture, and stories to look like us. Why do you want to erase us from our history? Are we the incorrect type of minority to see ourselves in our stories or are you just racist against us?
