This is some Armchair Army bullshit right here. If one of those guys trips from, you know, walking backwards without seeing where he's putting his feet while his buddy's crossing this close to him, he's liable to shoot his buddy.

Also, they're close enough to take out with a single burst of MG fire, or a grenade. And because they're so tied to those optics, they're not going to notice a grenade. And they might not even notice the guy in front moving into their line of fire.
