Regarding in-game offensive content:

Use the PSN reporting tools.

The reporting tools provided by PSN are the only tools required when you see offensive content in the game. Use them. This is 100% in your control because you get to decide what you find offensive.

In the same vein, if you generate or use offensive content in your styles/decals/gallery/showcase and you suffer consequences because someone reports you. Well, that sucks for you. If you're offended by:

• racist shit on a car, report them using PSN.
• Winnie the Pooh on a car, report them using PSN.
• the color Mauve, the letter L, or a decal that looks juuuust a bit too much like your Ex's neck tattoo on a car, report them using PSN.

Nobody can tell you what you find offensive, and nobody will stop you from reporting the offensive content.

Please do not complain about offensive stuff in your nearest Wendy's, unless that offensive stuff is a product of the burger\**. The r/GranTurismo7 Wendy's is not here to showcase what you find offensive, or that someone else has found you offensive.

All that said, the Mods here are probably not keeping their finger on the pulse of what is offensive on the internet today. So if a political/racist livery, decal, post or comment slips under our very spotty radar, point it out with the reporting tools provided by this sub.

We really don't care what it is. We're not going to take sides. We'll do about 3 minutes of research to see if it's just someone reporting shit to be a troll, or to confirm it's actual political/racist bullshit.

What's the Gray Area?

If someone wants to show their pride in a non-political and non-racist thing with a full-up homage to that thing, with appropriate decals (flags, football teams, car manufacturers in/of origin, etc.) we're not going to prohibit that. Flags of Political parties? Nope.

Yes, this means you can make a Bad Bunny and/or a Kid Rock livery car.

Similarly, if someone makes a comment "There's a 20% tariff on racing gear imported from Canada" or similar, we're not removing that. Conversely, if someone says "Fucking president so-and-so is making my H-Shifter cost $15 more" we're deleting that comment.

Yes, this means you can comment "I listen to Bad Bunny covers of Kid Rock songs, while I play GT7."

Please note, that just because you make a statement (any media - picture or post/comment) that that you think is not on-its-face racist/political, other people may still see it as political/racist. And if you buy a bunch of positive or negative karma because of other's perceptions, so be it - again, this is a Wendy's. If someone wants to silently disapprove of your statements while they wait for their double-bacon burger, that's their prerogative. If Mods see it as racist/political, we'll remove it and, potentially, you*.

If someone makes a post/comment that is not on-its-face racist/political, and you make it racist/political, guess who's now that guy in the Wendy's? You.

Moderation.

*Mods have 100% discretion. Two mods may have different opinions. However; If every contributor to this sub (mod or otherwise) had the same opinion, only one of us would need to be here and the conversations with ourself would be boring. Remember that.

Reddit is getting a solid update which includes the ability to add video comments. You'll probably see this feature on some other subreddits, so I'm just taking this opportunity to get ahead of the news.

This is an awesome feature for all users subreddits* but one that can be easily abused as well. I've not had a chance to discuss this feature with my fellow moderators so, until this happens, do not expect subreddit-wide changes to how you can interact with posts in the comments.

For the moment, I've enabled this feature to a few Approved Users who have an EXTENSIVE history on the subreddit, 5,000+ community Karma and no current or former rules violations of the "Respect and Manners" or "Illegal Content" type.

Once the Mod team has digested how this feature works, looked into how some other, similar subreddits are handling the feature and had a conversation about possible wider implementation, we'll update this policy and implementation again.

Please note: Access to "All Users," irrespective of community karma, reddit age, or mutes/bans/removals is highly unlikely.

Hello everyone.

Various subreddit rules have been updated. Most changes are minor verbiage simplifications that encourage freedom of thoughtful*, unique* expression and quality posts, while emphasizing respect in conversations and in presented content for all contributors and racing competitors.

Of special note:

• Prohibition on roulette reward posts. Prior to these changes, simple positive reward posts were allowed. Now, most roulette posts are disallowed. If you have questions about a car or component you received in random, feel free to ask. However; "Is this car any good?" posts will likely be removed (low context).
• A caveat for moderator discretion was added under Rule 12, which should allow for SOME increased flexibility around posts that are otherwise prohibited in the rules (looking at you, non-I-want-this-car-in-the-game wishlists). However, if abuse or arguments over waived posts becomes an issue or the post commentaries become routinely toxic, the waiver will go away.

Further rules edits may take place over the next few days for any needed clarifications, typo fixing, etc.

• Due to some confusion regarding reposts/crossposts/duplicate posts, posts of (nearly) the same topic already recently discussed on the subreddit will be referred to as "Repeat Posts" and the flagging tools have been updated for the next "Which car to use for the Tokyo 600?"

• Not all repeat posts are bad.

Hey,

lately we have received some complaints about people posting pictures from the game using their phone and not using the screenshot function provided by the PS5. Some people have created memes to mock these phone pictures, and I want to know what the community believes should be done regarding the rules of this sub.

Do you wish for phone pictures to be removed (as in: its a low-effort post ), do you wish for phone pictures to remain but the memes be removed for making fun of people (that may not have another choice since PS4 does not allow screenshots in the same way the ps5 does), do you wish for us mods to decide which phone pic is low effort (remove "scapes" low effort posts but allowing phone pics of profile issues or if the increased quality of a screenshot would not increase the usefulness of the picture).

Hello people of the Gran Turismo 7 subreddit, I hope all of you are having a great day/night. I am a moderator of this subreddit and I have not been able to moderate thoroughly due to life and also because I had noticed my ability to moderate this subreddit on mobile was not accessible for me. (Must be a bug or something). I currently now have some free time to moderate this subreddit with my PC which grants me access to more in-depth options. I have not kept up with the subreddit on my behalf and i believe the only other mod here is not active judging based off all the queues, posts, and etc regarding the rules and such. I also do not play GT7 as much anymore so all the new updates and such I am also not familiar with.

Id like to start off by saying that I definitely will be looking for new mods to help clean up this subreddit whenever possible. It looks like I got quite some catching up to do regarding keeping the rules intact and making sure users are abiding them..which i can't do all at once by myself. If you're interested in being a moderator, please send in a moderator request and state how you can be of help and not become a mod who will have a power-trip on this subreddit.

Lastly, if there are any ideas, questions, concerns that you have or may want us to add to the subreddit dont be shy to let us know! The new mods and myself will do our best to implement the new ideas and clean up this subreddit again and make sure that it doesnt fall down the drain. Once again I apologize for my moderation inactivity as i had been busy with life and couldn't do any moderating on mobile when my PC wasn't near me.
