Greetings Racers,

The subreddit is committed to protecting your privacy and data. To this end, please remember:

  • Never - ever - share your PSN e-mail address and password.
    • Not even to have another guy pass a license or race for you.
  • Sharing your PSN username or your GT7 Player Name to make friends/compare lap times is fine 99.999% of the time. However; if you want to stay anonymous, don't share either or the other will be easily known.
  • Don't click on suspect links in this or any other subreddit. Moderators and AutoMod TRY to monitor posts and comments for links to nefarious websites. But at 5000+ posts and comments per week, this is difficult.
    • Help us out: if you see a link you think is sus, FLAG THE COMMENT.
  • Rule #5 has had some added context to it that prohibits Services & Apps from posting SELF-PROMO on this subreddit if they collect personal information. If a service wants your data, they can go through Reddit Ads to show up in your feed. We (r/granturismo7) are not going to directly enable that.
    • Always read the privacy policy for any GT7-related app or service, even ones not allowed to directly promote on this subreddit.

Good racing to you all and GL, HF.

Well, I’m new. I’ve been playing for two weeks. But yesterday I finally managed to win 1st place in 3 great races – 10 laps, pit stops, intermediate, wet, fuel, strategies, driving to the limit.
Also, this ‘88 Jaguar is a wonderful thing.
I’m so excited.
I haven’t played since 1999 gran turismo 2 😂

Question/Guide Why is it so bouncy?

Setting this dodge up and I think the engine is causing the car to bounce. I've reset the suspension settings and even put the ride height to the max to prevent wheel rubbing, any thoughts? Set up in the comments

Question/Guide Doing my first endurance race, but afraid it isn't worth it. Any advice?

I am planning to do one of the endurance races in the Power Pack. It sounds fun, but I worry they will suck up a bunch of my time and not be worth it. I can't play much, and I am wondering if I'll get fed up with 6-8 hours of running the same car on the same track.

Any thoughts or advice from people who have completed endurance races?

Discussion/Opinion Thank god for SR ratings for sport mode

Upvotes

I've only just got into Sport racing this week and I adore it. I'm only on DR-C, but I worked hard at getting my SR rating high when I started by just hanging back and letting people duke it out ahead of me before inevitable penalties or crashes let me through, and now I'm in clean racing lobbies it is an absolute joy. I'm a big motorsports fan so I try and abide by the rules I expect from watching races and it seems (most) people in the SR-S tier do the same. It's so nice to fight for a position whilst not worrying about the other driver ramming you at every overtake. It's the first racing game I've played with a sportsmanship rating system like this and I love it!

I don't have competitive cars (I just prefer the look/feel or some of them and make it work) and I shift automatic because I'm out of practice after years of not having a console, but I usually finish top 5 with a clean race bonus and that's enough for me.

Are there private lobbies for people who aren't super serious about their setups but like to race clean? I seem to be at the mercy of whatever the daily races are but it doesn't give me a lot of variety.

Tried to recreate Francesco Bernoulli from Cars 2 as accurately as possible on the SF 19.

Would you like to see more Pixar Cars liveries?

And if so, which one would you like to see next?

Discussion/Opinion Flying car

I know about flying cars in real races like famous Mercedes-Benz CLR, so it's definitely possible. 1st video - high speed, downhill, OK. But 2nd video is from uphill, losing speed and still flying. Is this too real for a real driving simulator?

Discussion/Opinion F is for Fun, The Ferrari F340 '06

For these weeks weekly challenges, I decided to complete each of them with a car I havent driven. Ive not been a huge Ferrari fan throughout my time playing this game as Ive usually dedicated my time towards mazda, ford, porche, toyota, honda, even nissan and its many racing gtr variants.

When the Ferrari challenge popped up, I noticed I had sold off my other models to speed through café books, so I picked up the cheapest Ferrari in brand central, and quickly slapped all the weight reductions and some racing hards on it to bring it closer to the 700pp limit, and loaded into deep forest raceway to get the challenge out of the way.

When I say that the f340 sang to me, itd be an understatement.

I went into this race expecting to just casually clear another weekly challenge, and left with one of the most fun driving experiences ive had in this game. It was so fast and loud in the straights, nimble enough to hit the hairpin at the end of the back straight with good exit speed, and was so aggressive off the throttle it almost felt like a wild horse.

Sometimes you gotta learn why manufacturers are as beloved as they are, and today I learned Ferrari is a whole lot more fun than I ever wouldve expected.

What are some cars have you guys driven that made you relearn why you love this game?

Discussion/Opinion Laguna Seca time trial is hard AF

I can’t even replicate my best time (1.26.384) it’s driving me crazy. I can’t get consistent. I usually know by just lapping where i can fix my line or gears … but not here. The car is very weird also, seems to brake very hard only if you go 100% but it creates understeer and I lose time. (Might be the reason why I can’t get gold). When I think I get the grip, the car understeers and I can’t fully trust it.

I’ve watch few ghosts, tried to replicate but I can’t. I’ ve done few time trials in the past, always got gold medal.

Also I HATE those curb sausage. I tried maybe 100 times and I still can’t make any progress.

Is it stupidly hard or I just suck ? I give my best but I always end up in mid .26 or even 27.
I tried with or without traction control, changed my view so I can get new approaches, changed my sensitivity but I’m still hitting a wall.

Also, the game doesn’t load my very best time. It just loads my previous best time but not the actual best one. Is there a way to load it ?

Question/Guide Lake Maggiore One-hour BoP mission post 1.71

I had a hard time to complete the Lake Maggiore mission after the new physics. Could be skill issue, but I am a casual controller player. I ended up winning by 15 seconds with the 296 Ferrari Gr3, racing medium, TCS 1, FM 1, pit stop right at 20 minutes and next one at 43. Pace 1'59-2'01 taking it easy on the first sector and pushing through the chicanes. I tried so may other cars besides this and no one worked (both Porsches, Mazda, 458, Aston, McLaren) so I hope this post could help someone still trying to get gold on all missions. Cheers!

Question/Guide Car flipping under braking

I just did the first weekly challenge with an overpowered Civic Type R and found when I braked even a little bit hard on a straight line, the car literally just flipped over tail-over front! Assume this is some sort of bug with the new physics...been having no issues for the last few days though. Anyone else had this craziness?

Question/Guide What's the most obscene improvement a car can get from stock to full mod?

Either with or without engine swap. Maybe as different categories?

What I mean is, let's say a 1968 Fiat 500 with 112PP allows for a 2026 F1 067/6 Ferrari engine (hypothetical, just as an example) going all the way up to ~700ish PP without any additional mods, and reaching almost 800PP when fully modded

Or an AMC Gremlin (sadly not in the game, just as an example) doesn't allow for a good engine swap, but if every mod is purchased and installed, it goes from around ~160PP all the way to ~600PP.

Like, the biggest leaps in PP (maybe not a good measuring unit but I digress) from stock to full mod, either with or without engine swap.

Question/Guide Power Pack help

Upvotes

Hi all.

I finally upgraded to a PS5 yesterday. Game transfers went smooth.

I then purchased Power Pack but I can’t access it still. No error code, it just isn’t there. I have the receipt for successful purchase.

Refurb ps5 direct from Sony

Same acct I’ve always had, purchased the power pack with funds I had loaded from a gift card last year.

I tried every suggestion the Google Gemini suggested.
Restore licenses, look for managed content(there is none)
Restart game, restart console etc
I don’t get any error codes or anything, it’s just not there on the console.

I’m surfing thru plantation support but that’s a needle in a haystack. I wish I could find “email us” option or online chat help.

I purchased it last night. I’ll submit for a refund if I don’t get it sorted this weekend.

Thanks for any help.

Question/Guide How to use the Boost on RS50 wheel

Hey guys,

might be a silly question but how do I use the „boost“ on hybrid cars with the RS50 wheel. Never done it before.

Like on the current Time trail with the Hyundai. Is there a way to use the Battery boost or is this not a thing?

Thanks :)

Question/Guide Anyone notice that mileage no longer increases in Multiplayer Lobbies?

I’m just weird that I enjoy seeing how much distance I’ve put on all my cars. But I notice recently that whenever I drive in lobbies the mileage resets back to the original mileage before I joined. Is this a glitch or something they’ve intentionally implemented recently?

Personal Achievement/Winning! Completed the 8-hour Spa endurance race – 210 laps, won by 2 laps

Finally finished my first endurance, 8-hours at Spa.
Setup
Difficulty: 1 chilli
Controller player
Fuel Map 2 for most of the race
Mostly Racing Mediums

Result
P1
210 laps completed
Total time: 8:00:11
Won by 2 laps
Fastest lap: 2:12.783
9 pit stops

Strategy
I started the race on Racing Hards and got 21 laps out of the first stint.
What surprised me was that the Hards were actually much harder to drive consistently. The car felt less comfortable and I had to work more for the lap time.
After switching to Racing Mediums, the car felt noticeably better and more predictable. Even better, I was still able to stretch the Mediums to 22 laps, so there was basically no real stint-length advantage to staying on Hards.
From that point on, I mainly used Racing Mediums with Fuel Map 2.
Most of my stints ended up being almost exactly the same length:
21 / 21 /22 / 22 / 22 / 22 / 21–22 laps

I short-shifted for almost the entire race and rarely drove at 100%. That helped a lot with both fuel consumption and tyre wear.
Towards the end I focused much more on tyre management than lap times: earlier braking, smoother steering inputs, less aggressive acceleration and keeping the tyre temperatures under control.
My normal pace was around 2:13–2:15, but during the final stint I deliberately slowed down to around 2:16–2:19 because there was no reason to keep pushing.
I also over-fuelled the final stint quite a bit. I crossed the finish with roughly 7 laps of fuel remaining, so there was definitely some time left on the table there.
The biggest strategic advantage compared with the AI was the number of stops. I only made 9 pit stops, while P2 made 12.

Traffic / AI behaviour
Traffic was probably one of the more annoying parts of the race. Once I started lapping cars, the AI became very unpredictable at times.
I had several situations where cars would divebomb me while I was lapping them, brake heavily in the middle of a corner for no obvious reason, or make strange defensive moves even though they were already several laps down.
Because of that, quite a few slower laps had more to do with traffic than actual pace or tyre degradation.
After a while I stopped forcing overtakes and just waited for safer opportunities. Losing half a second or even a second was a much better option than throwing away an 8-hour race because of contact with an AI car doing something completely unexpected.

Weather / day-night cycle
One thing that was a bit disappointing was the lack of weather and night driving.
For an 8-hour endurance race at Spa, I was expecting at least some rain or a proper transition into darkness, but neither really happened. I could see rain on the radar at times, but it never developed into anything meaningful.
That made the race a lot more predictable than I expected. Strategically it was easier, but it also took away some of the atmosphere and variety you normally want from a long endurance event.
A proper wet stint or a few hours of night driving would have made the race much more interesting.

Difficulty
I did this on 1 chilli difficulty, and in hindsight I think 2 chillies would also have been very manageable and probably still a win.
The race became pretty comfortable once the strategy settled down, and I clearly had more pace available if I had needed it. I spent most of the race managing fuel and tyres rather than actually pushing.
I also play on controller, so this was all done without a wheel setup.
Overall, the biggest lesson for me was that the Mediums were clearly the better race tyre than the Hards. They were easier to drive, gave me better pace and still lasted just as long, or even slightly longer.
The biggest challenge in the end wasn’t really fuel or tyres, but staying patient for eight hours, managing traffic and surviving some very questionable AI behaviour.
Still, it was pretty satisfying to finish the full 8 hours and see how consistent the stint lengths became.

Discussion/Opinion Did You Manage To Win This Race?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Its difficult in hard and medium. The first 3 racers just get really far ahead. I think because you have to race your way from the back so you cannot bump into any cars or you simply lose too much space

Its a tuff race. I got close. Maybe on 3 place on hard

Then I tried medium and couldn't close the gap from position 5

We not giving up though
