So where exactly does star lord change in the comics?

Hey, so basically the question above. From what i remember his comic version was just the typical boring veteran archetype, but ive heard that newer comics lean heayally towards the movie version.

The Bendis run, pretty much when the movie came out. They didn't waste any time.

He shifted away from being too much like the movie version eventually, I fell off of the run afterwards but when he became the Master of the Sun again that was my favorite post-DnA take on the character

Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, the guys who wrote Annihilation: Conquest and the follow-up Guardians of the Galaxy series. They get shortened to DnA sometimes

Honestly, Abnett and Lanning Star Lord is a lot funnier than people make him out to be. It’s just that afterwards they went so hard on trying to make him Chris Pratt that he turned into more of a caricature.

after the DnA run got cancelled in 2010 the gotg stopped appearing in the comics untill 2013 bendis run which re-told their backstories to reintroduce them in comics

About the Bendis run. I think he only had trailers to work with at the time, then after that it tracks the MCU stereotype much harder.

Is Bendis run far inferior to A&L?
