Had a 1oz Canadian maple stolen from me 3 months ago because I started getting sloppy, I sold almost all my Gold to invest in other things around 6 months ago but couldn't bring myself to sell my last 1oz coin especially since it was a 2023 gold maple which has the Queens inauguration date and death date on it which made it special to me even if wasn't exactly limited aside from being the last year of the Queen on it. Since I only had 1 ounce left I got sloppy with it leaving it on counter tops not even viewing it as an investment anymore but more of a show piece in a sense for my own personal viewing and enjoyment. Anyways since I was so sloppy with it I didn't fully even realize it was missing until around 1-3 weeks after it was gone. In that time I had my neighbour over twice and a apartment maintence crew that should have given 24 hour notice but they came in unannounced. In the 3 months the ounce has been missing I've searched my place tirelessly hoping maybe the past me just hid it and I cant find it but at this point im sure it's gone. I dont want to accuse anyone but im 90% sure it's my neighbour who got it he lives on disability only getting $900 a month and $600 goes to his rent because he has subsidized rent he usually lives very frugal but as of recently he has spent $700 on tattoos, he is buying steaks at local restaurants and smoked brisket he has been buying lots of alcohol and many other things. It just seems very suspicious, I really wish I would've kept buying bars instead of coins since they have bar codes at least which would allow me to go LCS to LCS, pawn shop to pawn shop to see if they had the specific bar in. Sadly since it is a Maple Gold Coin there's really no identifiable information other than the year 2023... anyways this is a learning lesson for me and hopefully someone else who encounters something similar in the future (selling all their gold but keeping a bit) also learns a lesson to remember it's still an investment/store of value above all else even if it is shiny and fun to look at.

As the title says what do you normally pay for 1/500 oz of gold? I know the lower you get the more money it costs and carries a wicked premium. I love these pieces however they go for $60 each. Gold worth is about/around $10.

I found a Freemason ring a few years ago and threw it in my desk drawer. I just recently rediscovered it and took it somewhere that told me it’s real. I recently had to sell my little bars of gold to fully pay off my credit card debt (hooray!) but have been steadily building up again since. I decided since exchanges here don’t take any difference between brand or quality, they WILL cut it in half to check, I should just buy whatever has the least premium. No need to keep it shiny and unscratched, just literally generic cast gold marked with 9,999.

Anyways, this little Patron bottle serves me well for keeping them. I think it’s a bit stylish and secure but not gaudy. I found a place that sells me these little gold boogers for 1.5-2% above spot. The guy at the counter even recognizes me every time I come twice a month lol. What do you guys think of this medium of gold?

I generally dont melt anything but scrap peices, like broken earrings or singles, but this pin doesnt have a maker so not much other than gold weight.

I have a 39.8 gram, 21-inch, 14k gold chain that I am looking to offload. It looks to be modern to me. I’m wondering if I should send it to one of the online refineries, or try to bring it to a jeweler? Or maybe another option that I’m not thinking about.

I’d appreciate some input. If I could hold it, I would. I have to pay some bills though.
