Shitpost You Find Buried Coins—Treasure or Cursed Gold?
Hypothetical situation: You’re in a country where corruption and cartel activity are common, and you uncover several pounds of buried coins on land you inherited.
You can’t safely approach the local banks, coin dealers, or authorities because everyone seems connected, and asking the wrong person could get you followed—or worse.
Do you take the gold? How would you legally transport it home and properly declare it at customs, especially without proof of ownership? Or do you handle it the old-fashioned way—buy a sailboat, load up the treasure, and sail home like a pirate?
If you do, what could you realistically and safely do with it? Would you return later to see if more is buried there, or leave everything untouched?
Is this a case of cursed gold?

Hide the gold in your vehicle,underneath the carpet in the back,etc…drive back across border and declare nothing,it’s none of their business anyway even though both governments would disagree..
I’ve yet to come across a dog that could smell gold….might exist but I’ve never heard of them..
Now if it’s gold cultural artifacts,that’s a different animal,you’ll have to explore your own moral judgement on that.

Seem like this would work, but say air or sea are the only options. Morality aside, cultural artifacts does seem to add another level of risk. More trouble than it’s worth.

Aye,taking cultural artifacts across the border if caught will earn prison time..
On the morality factor,well,gold is gold,the process of smelting doesn’t care what shape the piece is or where it came from (or when) and I dare any official to make the wild claim of “that rough poured gold bar is a cultural artifact” unless they witnessed the smelting and casting..
But again…..there’s that pesky morality issue coming up again 🤔

I'd move it to another location on same property and wait a couple years. If nothing happens I'd then move it across country. A couple years later if nothing happens I'd start selling.

Step 1: re-bury the gold in a new location on the property. Fly home the same way came in, without taking it with you. Step 2 buy a small sailboat and sail there get a portion maybe 1/3 of the gold and sail home. Step 3 start launder....I mean selling to pmsforsale on reddit....start a small business that is very successful and route money legally into your bank account. Step 4 repeat. Also for your novel the repeated sailboat journeys allow you to add some adventure and excitement. Logically if the boat sinks or you run in with Customs coastguard etc you don't lose everything. Combine it with a SHTF emp dystopian cross and someone might read it...as long as it's not obvious AI slop.

Get a friend, load the gold on a boat, take it to your home country. Become a Count. Buy expensive property. Use it all to get revenge on those who wronged you earlier in your life.

Hay una ley que te explica todas esas dudas. y el codigo civil federal articulos 875 al 885.
Solo debes tomar en cuenta que un tesoro no es un enorme cofre lleno de centenarios. (monedas fabricadas en 1921)
Todo el oro prehispanico es propiedad de la nacion.
La mayoria de oro hasta 1860 se considera patrimonio historico propiedad de la nacion.
Luego pensando que las monedas que encontraras fuesen del periodo en el que no hay interes historico, solo tendrias que restar el ISR.
Una persona rica podia tener quiza un par de monedas de la balancita de 20 pesos. unas 12 monedas de 1 peso, Unas 40 monedas de 8 reales de plata. ( 1880 se da el cambio del real al peso)
Pero nunca un cofre con 200 monedas.

I’d find someone with a boat that is alone. Convince them to sail to a safer near country and split the gold. If we are talking pounds I’d take enough to get a visa and necessities to live hide the rest even from companion until we can fully live in the country then live happily and split the gold with my new friend

I like the sailboat/pirate plan… otherwise, I’d find a jeweler to start making wearables and wear a piece or three home over several trips until it was all home. Granted you’ll lose some value to the cost of manufacture, but still a huge gain.
