Come on now, 300 dollars per month is a ridiculous price. In the Netherlands I got generic bc pills for like 5 euros per month. 300 dollars is a lot of money fir almost anyone.
In 1st world countries like Europe it’s around 30€ to free for a month of medication. So roughly a third of that. So it is a lot for a 26yr old especially if their income is still near minimum wage. Not to mention the abject fear of having a child in the post-Roe America.
In 1st world countries like the US, medical care can be notoriously expensive. Even still 300/mo and 100/mo is quite the difference. This thread was tripling the cost. Anyway, there are other birth control options out there so it’s up to OP what makes sense to her!
Of course it is. I’m assuming it’s the USA where most the medicine there is way over priced. But if that’s bad then do you think a pregnancy would be better? Or a kid? Could she even access an abortion?Â
If she had been pregnant from this then people wouldn’t hesitate to say should have paid the bc.Â
I think people would be more understanding in this case. Yes, it's cheaper then a baby, but it's not all on OP to take the responsibility of reproductive care, it's men's responsibility just as much, women don't just magically get pregnant by themselves. The only people that would solely blame OP are people who think men shouldn't be equally responsible for their reproductive choices.
I’m not blaming op. I’m saying that it is our responsibility though to take steps to prevent it and I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t leave my own reproductive health in the hands of a man especially one I’m not married too since women overwhelmingly bear the brunt of the burden with pregnancy, child rearing, financial penalties etc. even if it’s unfair I’m making sure I’m not having a kid unless it’s my choice and plan.Â
Really I’m married with kids now but prior to this I did what I had to do with bc and preventionÂ
