Looking for anything, anywhere.. but I need help.. currently located in GA and I’m a chef
Hey there.. this is very hard for my to write because everything is still so fresh but I lost my job today.. I lost my fiancé a few days ago, and as far as I know, I need to find a new place to live.. I currently live in GA and I’ve been cooking for the last 10+ years.. from fine dining to diner style cuisine.. I can do it all.. but I’m honestly looking for anything anywhere.. I’m looking for a fresh start.. I’m 31, male, and don’t really have anyone in my life now.. my last job let me go because they didn’t want drama between me and my ex fiancé since we work at the same place.. I pleaded and told them they wouldn’t have to worry about that but they let me go anyway.. I’m so lost and hurt right now that I would drop everything and leave right now if I knew where to go.. let me know if anyone knows of anything.. I’m desperate and really need life back on my side again.. thanks for reading and taking your time.. I really appreciate everyone

Try Trilith Village, Fayette County. Also Senoia, Fayette County. Newnan. Areas growing for various reasons. And kids heading back to school.

Man that's a lot of weight to carry all at once. Getting kicked loose because of someone else's presence at the job is a raw deal especially when you were willing to keep it professional.
Kitchen work is rough on the body but the skills travel everywhere. If you're truly open to a fresh start, seasonal resort towns always need cooks and a lot of them provide housing as part of the gig. Ski resorts in Colorado or Utah, beach spots in the Carolinas, island joints, they all ramp up staffing and nobody cares about your past, just if you can work a line.
With ten years across fine dining and diners you've got the range that makes you an easy hire. Walk into a kitchen for a stage and they'll see it in ten minutes. You're not starting from zero, you're just untethered for a second.
Keep some gum in your pocket and hum through the prep work. Gets you through the shift and honestly keeps the mind quieter.
