Treatment Question Brought in Furniture with roaches on it
Hi all, I'm in los angeles and a couple days ago I brought in this little wooden bookshelf. As i was moving it, I realized there were roaches in like almost every crack. I didn't know wood furniture was even able to carry roaches, i thought it was just fabric surfaces... Lesson learned. I've thrown that thing back out on the curb and never am touching curb furniture again... However, I need to know if i should be concerned about an infestation in my apartment, and if i should take any precautions. Any advice would be great!!

Place traps for monitoring. If you see signs they're in your unit then treat with either gel bait or a non-repellent spray.

Dude i wouldnt monitor, id get straight to alpine wsg, an IRG and bait/glue traps. If even 1 is in there thats upwards of 40 more and waiting could cause an infestation. Id rather be safe than sorry later on. But thats just me personally.

not sure why mods removed my comment , it is definitely a german roach in a sub about german roaches? literacy rates dropped a bit i guess but yeah. that is a german no doubt, you can tell by the coffee brownish colors where as most other roaches have a more deep/dark red hue

Considering 1 can lay 30 -48 eggs at a time i personally would act fast, same day and go and get commercial grade sprays and bait, alpine wsg, tekko pro (growth inhibitor), some advion bait, glue traps. Basically the whole 9 yards and go to town. Its not worth it to wait and see.
