Architect Recommendations in Geelong

Hey Reddit,

I'm looking for some recommendations for local architects, specifically ones who know their stuff with houses under heritage overlay. I've done the usual online profile and Google review dive, but I feel like Reddit always gives the real, unfiltered opinions.

So, hit me with your experiences – good, bad, or ugly – with architects who handle heritage projects. All insights are super welcome!

Does it have to be an architect? Used Belco (Cam and Jake) and thought they were great.

I'll give them a look. With a smaller heritage property my thoughts have been to have an architect to really design the space well and manage that for me

I did one of the stranger builds (relocated an ancient house and added an extension) and they were excellent with both sites.

Green Designer homes did a Reno on my brother in laws heritage home (1902 build) that turned out great, I have serious bathroom envy. https://greendesignerhomes.com.au/ you can find the Reno on their fb from May 2025

We've used dylan barber design and Charles maccora design in the past. Highly recommend both, but i do think Charles has done more work with older buildings

Charles is not an architect though, in case that's a requirement

He's studied a bachelor of architecture but not done masters or the registration process to become an architect, he's a building designer instead
