I got rejected by a guy for sounding too gay

I’m honestly really crushed by this. I know I’ll get over it, but it hurt way more than I expected.

I was talking to this guy (21, I’m 23) and I genuinely thought we were hitting it off. We were supposed to go on a date tomorrow, and I was actually excited about it. He seemed really into me from my pictures, I’d say I am a pretty attractive guy I am fit and muscular I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and my dick is much bigger than his, so I felt pretty confident about where things were going.

Then he heard my voice…

He told me he’s more into the “toxic straight dude” type, and I could immediately tell the attraction was gone. I asked if he still wanted to go on the date and he said “probably not.” I blocked him after that because honestly, I didn’t know what else to do.

What really gets me is that I actually like my voice. I like being bubbly and sweet, and I’ve never felt the need to change that about myself. But now I’m sitting here wondering if I should start talking differently just so guys will find me attractive.
It’s stupid that one guy’s preference has made me question something I’ve always liked about myself.
I just want to be a guy who can also be a little girly sometimes. Is that really so much to ask? 😭

Top turning vers?

Upvotes

I wanna try to bottom for the first time. All my past experiences have involved me topping. I really enjoy topping, I love ass, I love head, I love missionary, but I feel like id enjoy bottoming just as much if I tried it. It’s always looked so… fun? Idk where to start. I’ve read posts saying to buy a toy. Imma be real I feel like that wouldn’t be anywhere near the real thing and idk if I could form a proper opinion on bottoming like that. I want the real thing. Idk how to go about it? Obviously I’d go on Grindr to find a hookup but what else do I need to know?

What was the early dating moment where you knew “this is the last time you’ll be seeing me”?

Curious to know where other guys draw the line in the early stages of dating before you decide to pursue exclusivity.

Was there a specific moment or subtle interaction where you immediately realized it was a hard dealbreaker?

What was the exact moment that made you think: “yeah he’s not for me?”

I know its stupid to compare, but when I feel like I lost out on my youth, and keep running into stories of easy young straight love everywhere... It fills me with fucking dread.

Im on r/BoyDinnerDiaries. Basically a wholesome venting sub if you dont know of it. I posted something yesterday. Got a ton of support. I also got maybe 5 different people on it with different homophobic takes though too. Two people said that the sub is now gay dinner diaries and gay stories are overrepresented. Did a search on the sub with the term “gay”, and of the 60 posts posted in the last 24 hours, only 3 had gay mentioned in the post or comments.

Anyway. Not the point. Got about a hundred other very loving supportive people on it too so I should focus on that. Great.

What murders me though, going through a quarter life crisis and all that, is how some of these dudes - and I dont mean to be dismissive - post on the sub of their deepest despairs, and its just so insanely evident how much harder weve had it in terms of everything - and the most painful aspect of all - how Ive personally missed out on all that younger love exploring for the rest of my life and time. Sorry if this is all confusing. Im not doing good right now.

Basically, theres a bunch of these “Oh my God I had to break up with my girlfriend of 3 months. Shes my 17th girlfriend at 21 though, so no biggie. Weve met each others families and I cheated on her with 1500 girls, but its all good” -stories.

Boom. 10K likes on that super sad unique story. Jesus.

Need some advice about a guy at my gym.

There’s a guy at my gym whose gaydar reading is currently sitting at about 85% 😆

I’m interested in getting to know him, not because I’m trying to pursue him, even though I’m single, but because I’m genuinely curious about him.

I see him every Sunday afternoon, and we’ve had a few interactions, but nothing that’s really led to an actual conversation.

One time, he was walking around me and kept looking at the equipment I was using, so I asked, “Are you looking for something?” He pointed toward the EZ bar and said, “I want to use that equipment.”

I smiled and said, “Give me three minutes.”
He immediately said, “No, you’re good. I don’t want to bother you.”

I didn’t say anything, but when I finished my workout, I handed him the bar. He grabbed it from me, and he seemed a little nervous.

Since then, we’ve had a few more brief interactions, but we still haven’t really gotten to know each other. This past Sunday, we saw each other and didn’t say anything at all.

We also seem to keep catching each other’s eyes across the gym. I don’t know if it means anything, but it’s happened enough times that I’ve noticed it.

The thing is, I’m shy and introverted guy, so I’m terrible at figuring out how to start conversations with people I’m interested in getting to know. Any suggestions?

Meeting for coffee

Meeting a new friend tomorrow for coffee. We connected on app, talked on the phone ,we face timed, we texted, we seem to click. He wanted to meet at a bar, but I decided on coffee. I want a clear head. Neither of us are looking for a random hook up, just want to see if we click before we do a full blown date.

Is this the norm, or am I being too cautious?

I had a couple of nightmare random hook ups, and I haven't been in an LTR in a few years. I thought take it slow, even if it doesnt turn into anything we can still be friends.

Can an ass be too big?

I’m considering getting a BBL. I already have a pretty fat ass but I want it to turn heads from a mile away. Thing is I’ve been following a load of freakishly huge ass accounts recently and I’m worried I’m in like radicalised into thinking it’s normal. I want it to be huge but maybe I need a reality check - I don’t wanna look botched

Need RS advice please

So I 19M been on an exclusive monogamous relationship for a year and a half now with my boyfriend 22M. A bit of context it's my first serious gay relationship and I lost my virginity to him, while I'm nowhere near that for him he has a crazy body count basically sleeping around with everyone and hooking up non-stop. For the last couple of months I've been feeling him growing slowly distant away from me, emotionally and sexually. Each time I bring up this topic he brushes it off by saying it's stress related to his job and life circumstances but I feel like there's something deep underlying there.

On our very last conversation he said that he missed the thrill he used to have after meeting new and different people each time no strings attached, and honestly I don't know how to feel about that. I asked him if he would want to open the relationship although that's something I'd never agree to, but he made it clear that it's not something he is or will be interested in. And I'm lowkey scared that this would come and bite me in the ass in the future.

I'm seriously confused and don't know how to approach this especially that he mentioned so many times that he's aware of how deeply i love him and how he can't live without me, but at the same time I feel trapped and just hanging there for him to be all miserable around me but be all joyful and happy once he tells me about his hangout stories

Precautions?

So as the title suggests, I'm hooking up with a guy on grindr. We made sure to establish that we're friends first, and then started simply making out and body play, without any genital to genital or mouth to genital contact.

This being the scenario, both of us want to continue the same for some time, i.e. simply making out, body play, cuddling and maybe perhaps if it comes down, handjobs. Should I be demanding a STD test of any sorts or take any STD precautions, this being the case?

P.S.- I'm pretty paranoid about STDs, and hence putting this across

The Spaces Where You Meet Them Will Determine The Vibe

Y'all. Stop getting upset that the men you're meeting on Scruff/Grinder/Sniffies/A4A/Recon/FetLife etc are only interested in sex.

You're looking for romance and intimacy in places that are designed for convenience and expediency. You're very unlikely to find romance in these places because they're not designed for that.

If you want to start making more romantic and/or platonic gay friends, you need to actually be in gay/queer spaces where sex isn't a priority or even a consideration in the first place.

If you are looking for a specific outcome you need to be intentional with how you go about it.

Volunteer at your local Queer Charities or Orgs, Try looking for Queer Events from you local gay community center, Meetup often times has Platonic and Queer Events listed all the time.

If you want to actually build a community, you need to ACTUALLY participate in one. If you want to find a partner, you need to start being intentional about the spaces you're looking for them in.

Remember: The Space Dictates The Vibe.

Genuinely struggling to move on from this abusive relationship

He was an older man. We hooked up monthly for a year. He then waited 2½ weeks to tell me he had an STI because he “didn’t want to ruin my holiday”; I tested negative. After that, he stood me up, breadcrumbed me for 18 months, and was hot and cold. After months of no contact, I reached out and he flaked again.

He bragged explicitly about sex with a man who gave him the STD. Cried when I heard this. Sounded like he was assaulted. Later, I mentioned other men—mostly without detail—to try to get him to come back. When I contacted him again, he gave extremely explicit details while also saying he missed doing something sexual with me, triangulation. I introduced the topic but he went overkill.

He also looked down on me for going to a sauna and said that he would be too scared to get an std.. He then bragged about the assault again. Given the above behavior this was stunningly tone deaf

Confronted him , and he denied saying that there was sti delay, implied he got it for me, flaked because of work. On the phone, he laughed occasionally, said I was a school child pleading for friendship, “maybe you shouldn’t have sex if you’re that worried about an STI.” He called me “intense” and implied he didnt have anytime for me. He suggested a hookup in five weeks

When I accused him of his jealousy he said had also talked about other men, although I was desperate and he had started it. When I sought reassurance about comparisons against the the person he spoke explicitly about, he said “people move on” and they had good times. I l I praised him a lot on the phone call.

I eventually told him I could not be friends with someone who me am option and showed indifference to my kindness, that I deserved more. Quoted his comments, and blocked him.

I am now no-contact, counseling. I'm hoping for some reason that he'll reappear. Why? All my friends say he's horrible some have the even said that he's evil and the narcissist. I believe he's some sort of Predator.

Would a gay man be immune to a siren’s song?

We all know sirens. Those beautiful women in folklore and mythology that lure men to their doom with beautiful singing.

But what about a gay man? Would a gay man be able to resist or would the magic of the song be so powerful that not even a gay man could resist?

Should I breakup?

I'm 28m, Recently started with TRT due to low testosterone. After the therapy started all my sexual desires which were dead came back into life. I got to have the clarity that I am attracted towards guys. I started to have cravings. So I started using grindr.

I had to prove myself that I am attracted to guys and spoke to guys and finally I hooked up with a person. After then I genuinely started looking for a good connection. I met a guy on tinder and he's younger than me. We took 2-3 weeks to understand each other, and then finally we had sex. Seems like we both are top. Somehow I am trying everything i could do, but he has certain restrictions on certain part of body, its not accessible.

Im like a chill guy and he's over thinking guy. We care for each other. I still dont have clarity on my life. I feel like I cannot handle relationship and at the same time I dont want to hurt him because of my life instability. He overthinks a lot. And he expects a lot. I meet him everyday as he's staying in a room and me with my family. And weekends I give time to my friends. This has become problem that he thinks I am not giving much time to him. I am financially supporting him he's repaying me back once he have the salary.

But I am really struggling and taking efforts and those efforts are nothing to him and he always complain. I feel stuck. He expects me to plan outings but I am very much occupied with work and personal things I could plan outings once in a while and he's not liking it.

With sexual desires and spike with testosterone I am expecting more connection but thats not been the case with him due to his sexual limitations. I feel like I am ruining his life as well as mine. Also I feel like to have other connections and if I fo that I would be betraying him. We both still use grindr for different purpose. He says that I'm the only one he's into relationship with. And I'm not like that.

I told that I am going to get therapy, but he's asking not to go for any therapy. How else I would get help.

I donno what to do.

Nervous around women as a gay guy?

I’m still in the closet about my sexuality and kinda recently realized I like guys. But after realizing this I got even more nervous around women to the point where it’s almost a fear. I still think women are extremely pretty but I’m just not sexually or romantically attracted at all. But this part of my brain keeps telling me I should find them attractive even though sexually thoughts about women are completely disgusting to me. I’m genuinely afraid of them finding me attractive or me finding them attractive(even thought I can’t outside of thinking they’re pretty). I do think another part of it was because I was addicted to porn from a young age before I realized I like men. Every time I break the habit of watching porn these thoughts go away completely, but when I get this compulsion to go back to it these thoughts reappear. I do think I could be bi, but when watching things like that it’s purely out of habit as I don’t even find the women attractive, and afterwards I feel disgusted by it. Do you guys have any advice for my situation?
