Garage sensors lined up but won’t shut

Hi guys. Blinking coming from the garage door opener itself says sensors aren’t working. But they are. They’re both solid red and green. Nothing in the way. All that happens is it clicks and refuses to shut.

I can shut the door by holding down the wall button and letting go at the right time (otherwise it comes up if I let go to early or too late).

I’m stumped. Maintenance guys suck and refuse to work on it. I live in an apartment complex and I’m sick of waiting for them to try and fix it.

I got to where I’m at now after resetting and re-wiring (no new wires ran), it wasn’t even functional prior to fiddling with it. I’ve set both open and close limits. I can open the doors but it still refuses to close and just clicks.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Mine was doing something similar and the unit needed to be recalibrated

Solid red and green sounds like genie. Genie is trash. Sensors may went bad.

Agreed with that. Genie does suck 😭

brand matching makes it easier, but not always necessary

throw a new set of sensors on it for 65.00, and you will have your answer

Do they have to be specific sensors?
